An ankle-foot orthosis forming a monolithic structure and include at least two different material components. The first material component has at least one tape layer consisting of a continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composite, and a second polymeric material component surrounds at least in part the tape and includes a thermoplastic material into which the first material component is embedded. A resin material of the first material component is bonded to the second polymeric material component.

Ankle-foot orthosis and method for making the same

A prosthetic foot can include an attachment member, at least one first brace, at least one first flexible member, an unpowered actuator, at least one second brace, and at least one second flexible member. The attachment member can include a connector configured to connect the attachment member to a user or another prosthetic device. The at least one first brace can mount to the attachment member and the at least one first flexible member can connect to the attachment member by the at least one first brace such that a force between the ground and the attachment member can be supported by the at least one first flexible member. The unpowered actuator can mount to the attachment member and the at least one second brace can be mounted to the actuator. The at least one second flexible member can connect to the attachment member by the at least one second brace such that a force between the ground and the attachment member can be supported by the at least one second flexible member.

Prosthetic foot with removable flexible members

Aprosthetic system includes aprosthetic footdefining an upper surface and having a flexible configuration andincluding a movable member anda pumpsystem attached to the prosthetic footmechanism. The pumpsystem includes a pumpmechanismdefiningdefinesa fluid chamberhaving variable configuration and an actuating partpositioned between the member and the foot.The actuating part is arranged to selectively engage with and separate a distance from the upper surface of the foot plate to move the pump mechanism between a first position in which a volume of the fluid chamber is zero or near-zero and a second position in which the volume of the fluid chamber is expanded relative to the first position. The volume of the fluid chamber increases when the actuating part moves away from the upper surface of the foot plate.During heel strike, the member pulls the upper side of the pump forward to expand the fluid chamber; during stance or toe-off, the member pushes the pump backward to compress the fluid chamber. The member includes two non-pivotally joined pieces.

Prosthetic device, system and method for increasing vacuum attachment

A prosthetic foot plate can have adjustable flexibility in the toe region, the metatarsal area, and/or the arch to accommodate different heights to which a heel region of the prosthetic foot plate is raised. The adjustable flexibility can be provided by materials of different stiffness and/or different physical structures of one or more locations on the prosthetic foot plate. In another variation, the adjustability in the toe region can be provided by a link between the toe region and ankle of the prosthetic foot. The link can be actuated to adjust an orientation of the toe region and/or the metatarsal region in any heel-height setting.

Prosthetic feet with increased flexibility to accommodate different heel heights

A prosthetic system includes a prosthetic foot having an upper foot element with a concave-forward facing portion and foot portion extending forwardly therefrom. An intermediate foot element is disposed below the upper foot element and has a front portion coupled to the foot portion of the upper foot element. A lower foot element is disposed below the intermediate foot element. A pump system is coupled to the prosthetic foot and comprises a pump mechanism including a housing defining a cavity, and a membrane situated in the cavity. The pump mechanism is movable between an original configuration and an expanded configuration. An arm member is connected to the pump mechanism and operatively coupled to the intermediate foot element. The arm member is arranged to move the pump mechanism toward at least the expanded configuration upon movement of the intermediate foot element relative to the upper foot element.

Pump system

An exoskeleton system includes a body interface and connects to a power supply. The body interface and the power supply include a quick lock connection mechanism arranged to adjust to the height and width of a user. The body interface includes a connection frame that defines at least two anchoring slots at different heights for connecting to corresponding anchors extending from the power supply. The power supply includes a removable locking element for securing the anchors to the anchoring slots at a selected height position. The power supply may have transmission arms driven by a drive system, and an assistive system for connection to a user. The transmission arms may be slidably connected to the drive system and have a locking part to secure the power supply in a plurality of predetermined width positions.

Locking and adjustment mechanism for exoskeleton

An adapter is arranged to secure to a rotary device. The adapter includes a handle rotatable about an axis, and a coupler extending from and coaxial with the handle. The coupler is adapted to engage the rotary device via traction elements for simultaneously rotating the rotary device and the handle.

Adapter for a rotary device

A prosthetic system includes first and second parts rotatable relative to one another about a joint. The first and second parts are adapted to form at least part of a weight bearing connection between a prosthetic foot and a socket. A pump system includes a pump mechanism operatively connected to the first and second parts. Rotation of the first part and/or the second part about the joint moves the pump mechanism between an original configuration in which the volume of a fluid chamber defined by the pump mechanism is zero or near-zero, and an expanded configuration in which the volume of the fluid chamber is increased.

Prosthetic feet that allow for heel height adjustment and/or provide metatarsal joint functionality to more closely mimic natural human feet are provided. A prosthetic foot can include an ankle module having a locking mechanism configured to lock the heel at a particular height. The prosthetic foot can also include a toe region that adapts to varying heel heights. The ankle module and/or locking mechanism can be adjusted, controlled, and/or locked via a hydraulic mechanism. The toe region can curve upward relative to a portion of the foot proximal of the toe region.

Prosthetic feet having heel height adjustability

A vacuum assisted suspension system includes a prosthetic foot and a pump mechanism connected to the foot and fluidly couplable to a prosthetic socket. The pump mechanism includes an elongate pivoting member rotatable relative to the prosthetic foot about a joint and including a distal recess. A piston is connected to the foot and is movably received in the recess. A fluid chamber is defined between the piston and the interior of the recess. When no weight is placed on the foot a volume of the fluid chamber is zero or near-zero and when weight of a user is placed on the prosthetic foot the pivoting member rotates away from the piston and expands the volume of the fluid chamber to draw fluid into the fluid chamber from the prosthetic socket.

Vacuum assisted suspension system

A prosthetic foot can include an attachment member, at least one first brace, at least one first flexible member, an unpowered actuator, at least one second brace, and at least one second flexible member. The attachment member can include a connector configured to connect the attachment member to a user or another prosthetic device. The at least one first brace can mount to the attachment member and the at least one first flexible member can connect to the attachment member by the at least one first brace such that a force between the ground and the attachment member can be supported by the at least one first flexible member. The unpowered actuator can mount to the attachment member and the at least one second brace can mounted to the actuator. The at least one second flexible member can connect to the attachment member by the at least one second brace such that a force between the ground and the attachment member can be supported by the at least one second flexible member.

A prosthetic joint can include a first attachment member and a second attachment member coupled to the first attachment member. The second attachment member can include a cylindrical chamber. The prosthetic joint can include a fixation system disposed within the cylindrical chamber comprising at least one cam. The prosthetic joint can have an unlocked configuration, wherein in the unlocked configuration the first attachment member and the second attachment member can rotate relative to each other. The prosthetic joint can have a locked configuration, wherein in the locked configuration the first attachment member is substantially prevented from rotating relative to the second attachment member.
