Some embodiments include a system with a sensor with electrodes including an active electrode and a receiving electrode that is in physical contact with skin of a patient forming an electrical circuit with control electronics of a controller that can measure an electrical parameter using an active electrode and a receiving electrode within a closed loop electrical muscle stimulation system. A sense electrical pulse can be applied to the tissue using the sensor, an electrical parameter measured from the tissue, and a stimulation pulse applied to the tissue based at least in part on the measured electrical parameter. The stimulation is adjustably controlled by the controller to maintain a constant power output to the tissue based on the electrical parameter. A good is coupled to a computer readable medium configured to store usage data, the usage data relating to the patient's use of the good.

Patient therapy systems and methods

Embodiments of the invention provide a system and method for delivering stimulation therapy or relief to a patient. The system includes a stimulation electrode pair coupled to a good that can couple to a patient to deliver stimulation controlled through a wired or wireless link. The system includes a controller that can generate and apply a stimulation pulse to the stimulation electrode pair based on the stimulation program and the signal or data. The system includes a sensor coupled to the controller and the good, and a user interface enabling a user to remotely view or exchange information through the link, and to monitor and set or reconfigure the stimulation pulse. In some embodiments, the good includes a brace assembly that can be a brace, a stay, a sleeve, a sling, a garment, a wrap, or a strap.

A system is provided for testing whether an iontophoretic drug delivery device is in an appropriate state for administering a therapeutic agent into an animal body. An electrical characteristic of at least one electrical path associated with an electrode test point is used to determine whether the iontophoretic device is in an appropriate state. The measured electrical characteristic indicates that the iontophoretic device is in an appropriate state for administering the therapeutic agent into the animal body when the therapeutic agent is properly disposed with respect to the electrodes of the iontophoretic device.

Selective access control apparatus for animals using electronic recognition

In an exemplary embodiment, a drug delivery device for driving an electrotransport current through a body surface of a user is provided. The device includes a patch with two electrodes and one or more reservoirs storing a therapeutic agent. The one or more reservoirs release the therapeutic agent into the body surface of the user when the reservoirs are positioned over the electrodes to form an electrical path for the electrotransport current. The device includes a controller which controls a controllable power supply to drive the electrotransport current through the body surface of the user in a predetermined profile.

Electronic control of drug delivery system

A system for wirelessly obtaining a measurement of a characteristic of a molten metal is disclosed. The system includes a contact block configured to be operatively coupled to a first end of a substantially hollow lance holder. The contact block is detachably and electrically coupled to and receives analog signals from a measurement sensor. The contact block converts the received analog signals into ultrasonic signals and transmits the ultrasonic signals through the hollow of the lance holder. A receiver block is configured to be operatively coupled to a second end of the lance holder. The second end is opposite the first end of the lance holder. The receiver block receives the ultrasonic signals from the contact block and converts the received ultrasonic signals into a digital voltage signal.

An implantable infusion pump system is disclosed. The pump system preferably includes an implantable pump and a removable module. The module may provide for varying flow rates of fluid being dispensed from the pump or may provide for a constant flow rate of such fluid. In the case of varying flow rate capabilities, the module preferably includes one or more sensors to determine information relating to the flow rate, electronics for analyzing the flow rate information, and a mechanism for physically altering the flow rate. Methods of dispensing a medicament to a patient are also disclosed, as are variations of the pump system.

A signal conditioning circuit is selected based on the amplitude of the biasing voltage, and the wideband radio frequency signal is distributed to an output device.

The receiver remains on to process a command signal when a preamble signal is detected. A DC-DC down converter can be used as a power supply for the receiver, and a SAW resonant circuit can be used as an IF oscillator for the receiver. An LC filter can be associated with the receiver for filtering the IF signal.

A device for the detection of tailgating between vehicles on a roadway. The device may emit ultrasonic signals on to a roadway and receive said reflected signals. The device has a processor adapted to use the received signals to determine the presence or absence of a vehicle. The processor also determines whether a vehicle is tailgating another vehicle by detecting if the time spacing between two sequential vehicles traveling in the same direction in the same lane is two second or less. The processor alerts a remote receiver when tailgating is detected. The device may also include a camera to take pictures of any vehicle determined to be tailgating. The device is preferably compact and easily portable.
