The invention provides methods of making microparticle and nanoparticle ocular implants from a compositions comprising: 99 to 60% (w/w) of a photopolymerizable composition selected from the group of fragments or monomers consisting of polyalkylene glycol diacrylate and polyalkylene glycol dimethacrylate, wherein the photopolymerizable composition has a molecular weight in the range of 100 to 20,000 Dalton; a biodegradable polymer selected from the group consisting of aliphatic polyester-based polyurethanes, polylactides, polycaprolactones, polyorthoesters and mixtures, copolymers, and block copolymers thereof; a photoinitiator; and a therapeutic agent.

Ocular compositions

There is provided a non-water soluble drug delivery composition comprising a conjugate and a polymer matrix wherein exposure of the composition to electromagnetic radiation at a suitable pre-determined wavelength and intensity induces release of the active ingredient from the composition. The conjugate is attached to the polymer matrix through non-covalent interactions. There is also provided a drug delivery apparatus formed from the drug delivery composition.

Drug delivery composition

A material comprising at least one polymer and at least one sensitizer wherein the sensitizer is localised at a surface of the material wherein the sensitizer is an agent or compound able to provide improved anti-bacterial and/or anti-viral activity following exposure of the sensitizer to a particular wavelength or range of wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation.
