Anchors and precast concrete structures including anchors are provided. An anchor includes a disk having a first dimension D, a second dimension Dand a first aspect ratio [D/D], wherein Dand Dare oriented perpendicular with respect one another, and wherein the first aspect ratio [D/D] is in a range between and including 0.75 and 1.25; and a head extending from a generally central portion of the disk in a direction generally perpendicular to Dand D, the head having a third dimension D, a fourth dimension Dand a second aspect ratio [D/D], wherein Dand Dare oriented perpendicular with respect to one another, wherein Dis parallel with respect to Dand Dis parallel with respect to D, and wherein the second aspect ratio [D/D] is less than 0.5.

Anchors for precast concrete and precast concrete having anchors

An anchor is provided having a lifting pin, with a shaft, a head at an upper end of the shaft, and a foot at a lower end of the shaft, and the anchor further comprising an annular plate with an opening through the center, positioned with the shaft extending through the opening and the annular plate overlaying and supported by the foot. The annular plate has an area that is at least 80% of the area of a hypothetical circle circumscribing the annular plate.

A set of stackable, planar shims is provided, with each shim having a series of projections on the top surface and corresponding recesses on the bottom surface, wherein the projections overlay the recesses. Each shim may be characterized by a bisecting line, with the series of projections and recesses being a reverse image of each other, on either side of the bisecting line. Notches in opposite corners of the shims facilitate aligning the shims in an interlocking arrangement, regardless of which surfaces of the shims are pressed into contact. The projections on the surface of the shim can be arranged to create a barrier to shear forces that are perpendicular to the sides of the shim and diagonal to the sides of the shim.

Fish tail lift anchor for precast concrete

A precast concrete component is provided with anchor having a cylindrical rod bent to form a centrally-positioned handle and two downwardly extending legs. The handle can be relatively smooth and die legs are provided with a series of projections along their lengths, such as are formed by threads. The legs of the anchor may converge inwardly from the handle and are compatible with precast concrete double tees having webs or stems that taper from the flange of the double tee downward. Alternatively, the legs of the anchor may diverge outwardly from the handle.

A flange connector is embedded in precast concrete structural member for use in joining adjacent concrete members together, wherein the flange connector is characterized by a center plate and legs extending back from each side of the center plate. Each of the legs is provided with projections extending from the top edge and bottom edge of the leg, in the same plane defined by the height and length of the leg. The projections extending from the top edge and the bottom edge of the leg may be mirror images of each other, so that the cross-sectional area of the leg is substantially the same over the portion of the leg with the projections. The legs of the flange connector may incorporate additional enhancements to increase the resistance to pull out, including a neck formed by notches in the top and bottom of each leg, adjacent the transition region extending from the center plate and one or more embossments creating a convex area on one side of each leg and a concave area on the opposite side of each leg.

An erection anchor is provided having a head and first and second legs affixed to opposite sides of the head, whereby the first and second legs each have a threaded lower section extending downward, away from the head. The erection anchor may be embedded in a precast concrete panel, such as a multilayer panel having an insulation core layer sandwiched between concrete layers. The erection anchor may be embedded in the multilayer panel with the head exposed and the first and second legs each embedded in a concrete layer on opposite sides of the insulation layer.

Shim

An adjustable location anchor with a greatly increased strength having wide versatility regarding the types of straps or attachments which are usable therewith. The invention includes an extended housing having an interior cavity which includes a main slot and which can include a pair of anterior flanges or wings, wherein the extended housing can be placed into the uncured concrete such that it is rigidly embedded therein upon curing. A sliding insert can then be provided within the interior cavity being configured to slide along a slot formed thereby. The extended housing can also have one or more reinforcement attachment means for connecting to existing concrete reinforcement structures.
