The present invention relates to methods and apparatus for anchoring a retractable netting system in a vertical orientation relative to a shelving assembly. A retractable netting system includes a frame assembly onto which a net is operatively connected. Cables attached to opposing ends of a draw bar member may be pulled and released to raise and lower the net.

A retractable barrier assembly is selectively deployed to span an aisle bounded on at least one side by a shelf unit. More specifically, a net is preferably movable between a storage position, off the floor and free of the aisle, and a deployed position, extending across the aisle. A container is preferably provided to support a first end of the net and house the net when in its storage position.

A shelf assembly includes vertical posts and horizontal shelf supports that are configured and arranged to define at least one shelf space extending upward beyond upper distal ends of the posts. A lifeline safety system is employed for anchoring a retractable lifeline system to a pre-cast deck panel to provide fall protection for workers. The lifeline anchor assembly employs a pair of clamp bars which are adapted and positionable for engaging opposing lifting notches of the pre-cast panel. The retractable lifeline is received in mounting shoes which are mounted to the top of a frame which extends across the top of the panel.

A containment system employs a pair of spaced webs and a cord which is laced through grommets mounted to the webs for adjusting the effective dimensions of the containment panels at the work site. Panels are connectable in end-to-end fashion wherein a panel flap extends between the panels with each of the panels being fastened to a support cable, so that there is no containment gap between panels of the containment system.

A lifeline safety system for a pitched roof employs a frame for mounting a lifeline system above the peak of the roof. Shoulders extend from the frame and engage opposing sides of the roof. An anchor comprising a generally J-shaped bolt secures the bracket assembly to the roof. The bolt has a hook which engages the underside of the rafter. A nut has a pair of arms for torquing the nut to the bolt. In one embodiment, two roof mounting pods are pivotally mounted to a shoe which receives a retractable lifeline housing.

A debris barrier for a high rise construction structure comprises a woven flexible mesh netting. A cord longitudinally extends along the top of the netting to form a reinforced border. The top of the netting is clipped to a safety cable so as to vertically suspend a portion of the netting. An anchoring strip is fastened to the netting. The netting is anchored to the floor slab by driving fasteners through the anchoring strip.
