Scheduling full-duplex transmissions includes configuring adjacent time slots of an air interface resource with different ratios of uplink portions, downlink portions, and flexible portions, scheduling transmissions in each adjacent time slot based on whether or not the transmissions are latency-sensitive or delay-sensitive or control transmissions. The uplink portions, downlink portions, and flexible portions comprise symbols within time slots of a subframe, and can vary based on a numerology. The flexible portions are symbols configured to simultaneously transmit uplink data and downlink data.

Scheduling full-duplex transmissions in 5G networks

Systems and methods are provided for dynamically allocating total uplink power for a wireless communication device (WCD). A distance between a portion of a user's body (e.g., the user's ear) and the WCD is determined. It is then determined whether this distance is less than or greater than a predetermined threshold. If the distance is less than the predetermined threshold, the WCD may use a lower uplink power. If the distance is greater than the predetermined threshold, the WCD may use a higher uplink power. The WCD then transmits wireless uplink signals using either the lower or higher uplink power based on the distance between the WCD and a portion of the user's body.

Proximity based uplink power control

A method and system for assigning data packet transmission in a wireless communications network is provided. The method comprises receiving first and second user data packets having respective first and second packet sizes, one of the packet sizes being larger than the other, determining an uplink/downlink ratio based on network statistics, and assigning the first and second data packets to respective first and second signal carrier spectrums each having a different time interval between uplink transmissions with the network. A system is also provided comprising a network controller configured to receive data packets and assign individual data packets to one of a first and a second signal carrier spectrum based on the size of the data packets, the first and the second signal carrier spectrums having the same uplink/downlink ratio and different uplink intervals.

Method to transmit data packets on a network

In systems and methods of managing wireless communication link resources, a static overhead load, a data traffic load, and a signaling load are determined of a wireless communication link between an access node and at least one wireless device. A wireless communication link load is calculated based on the static overhead load, the data traffic load, and the signaling load, and a load control process is performed when the wireless communication link load meets a load criteria.
