Aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for estimating a biometric parameter using multiple sensors. As described herein, multiple sensors are strategically used to output with increased confidence a biometric parameter. Multiple sensors are strategically used to save power while determining an accurate biometric estimation. Additionally, multiple sensors are used to detect and categorize a sleep apnea event.

Aspects of the present disclosure provide methods, apparatuses, and systems for non-linear breathing entrainment. According to an aspect, a final breathing period is selected, and a current breathing period of a user is measured. A guiding stimulus configured to alter the current breathing period towards the final breathing period over an interval of time at a non-linear prescribed rate is output. A difference between the current breathing period and a target breathing period along the non-linear linear prescribed rate is determined. Based at least in part on the difference, the guiding stimulus and/or the non-linear prescribed rate are adjusted. The guiding stimulus and the non-linear prescribed rate may be stabilized, increased, or decreased to enable the user to reach the final breathing period.

Logic for modulating entrainment sequence with biofeedback

Aspects of the present disclosure provide methods, apparatuses, and systems for non-linear breathing entrainment. As described herein, 'breathing entrainment' refers to guiding a user's breath or breathing. According to an aspect, an initial breathing period and a final breathing period are selected. Based on the initial and final breathing periods, a non-linear breath rate per minute sequence is determined. A guiding stimulus is output and aligned with the non-linear breath rate per minute sequence. The guiding stimulus is non-linearly altered with the non-linear breath rate per minute sequence to align with the final breathing period over an interval of time. The non-linear alterations of the guiding stimulus vary based on an amount of time the guiding stimulus has been output.

Non-linear breath entrainment

Aspects of the present disclosure provide methods, apparatuses, and systems for dynamic starting rates for guided breathing. According to an aspect, a user's initial breathing metric is determined. A multiplier is then determined, where the multiplier varies as a function of the initial breathing metric within a range. The level of intensity of the multiplier may vary, and may be a dynamic feature based on the determination of the user's initial breathing metric. Once the multiplier is determined, the multiplier is applied to the user's initial breathing metric to determine a starting breathing metric for guided breathing. The starting breathing metric is slower than or equal to the user's initial breathing metric.

The technology described in this document can be embodied in a computer-implemented method that includes receiving information representing audio captured by a microphone array, wherein the information includes multiple datasets each representing audio signals captured in accordance with a sensitivity pattern along a corresponding direction with respect to the microphone array. The method also includes computing, using one or more processing devices for each of the multiple datasets, one or more quantities indicative of human voice activity captured from the corresponding direction, and generating, based at least on the one or more quantities computed for a plurality of the multiple datasets, a directional audio signal representing audio captured from a particular direction.

The technology described in this document can be embodied in a first acoustic device that includes an input port configured to receive an input signal representing audio from a media device, and one or more acoustic transducers. The first acoustic device also includes one or more processors configured to generate, from the input signal, a first signal for producing an acoustic output from the one or more transducers, and a second signal for producing an acoustic output from a second acoustic device. The first and second signals are generated from the input signal based on a feedback signal received from the second acoustic device. The first acoustic device also includes an output port for providing a portion of the second signal to the second acoustic device.

The technology described in this document can be embodied in a method that includes receiving, at a processing device, a feedback signal from a recording device, and generating, based on the feedback signal, a control signal for adjusting an acoustic output of a speaker device to achieve a target acoustic distribution within the environment. The feedback signal can indicate an acoustic characteristic of an environment in which a speaker device is located. The method also includes providing the control signal to the speaker device.
