A method for low temperature attachment of components is provided which uses an electrically conductive adhesive. The electrically conductive adhesive may be defined by a substrate having numerous passageways through the substrate. The passageways are defined by a plurality of walls of the material making up the substrate. The walls are covered with a layer of conductive metal. The passageways at the outer surfaces are filled with a non-conductive pressure sensitive adhesive resin.

Low temperature method for mounting electrical components

A cover or lid assembly is provided for EMI/RFI shielding. The cover or lid is used in combination with an electrical assembly having an electrical ground, at least one electronic component electrically connected to the assembly, a conductive frame, disposed about the electronic component. The conductive frame is electrically connected to the ground. An electrically conductive adhesive is disposed continuously between the frame and the lid to mount the lid to the conductive frame to shield the electronic component from electromagnetic and radio frequency interference.

Lid assembly for shielding electronic components from EMI/RFI

A Faraday cage is provided for EMI/RFI shielding which includes a substrate having an electrical ground; at least one electronic component electrically connected to the substrate; a conductive housing; and an electrically conductive adhesive. The electrically conductive adhesive may be defined by a substrate having numerous passageways through the substrate. The passageways are defined by a plurality of walls of the material making up the substrate. The walls are covered with a layer of conductive metal. The passageways are filled with a non-conductive adhesive resin. The conductive housing is adhesively electrically mounted to the electrical ground of the substrate, over the electronic component, to shield electromagnetic and radio frequency interference.

Faraday cage

The present invention is an improved adhesive sheet (also known as a 'bond ply,' 'bond film,' or 'prepreg') material suitable for bonding together electric circuit boards and other electrical components. The adhesive sheet of the present invention comprises a combination of a porous expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), a ceramic filler, and a thermoset resin imbibed within the porous PTFE structure. By employing a fill of less than about 60% by weight of resin, the adhesive sheet has exceptionally good performance characteristics while being vastly easier to process.

Matched low dielectric constant, dimensionally stable adhesive sheet

The present invention relates to thin adhesive composite films formed from fluoropolymers imbibed with adhesives and containing a filler at least within the infra-structure of the polymer to provide the film with a high dielectric constant. The films of the present invention are particularly suitable for use in a capacitor or in applications requiring high capacitive properties.

High capacitance sheet adhesives

An electrically conductive adhesive is described that is made of a porous substrate having numerous passages extending through it. The walls of the substrate defining the passages are plated with a conductive metal. This provides a continuous plating from one side of the porous substrate to the other. The remaining passage volume is substantially filled with an adhesive resin. The adhesive can be used to electrically connect two metal surfaces.
