A coolant flow control module, having a first outer housing, a first rotor located in the first outer housing, a second outer housing adjacent the first outer housing, and a second rotor disposed in the second outer housing. The second rotor is engaged with the first rotor such that the first rotor and second rotor rotate in unison. An actuator is connected to the first rotor, a first plurality of ports is integrally formed as part of the first outer housing, and a second plurality of ports is integrally formed as part of the second outer housing. The actuator rotates the first rotor and second rotor to at least one of a plurality of orientations such that fluid is able to flow through the first plurality of ports and the first rotor, and fluid is able to flow through the second plurality of ports and the second rotor.

Coolant flow control module

An vapor purge system for a turbocharged internal combustion engine having an evaporative emissions turbo purge valve incorporating a venturi vacuum generator and a hose-off detection function. The turbo purge valve includes a pressure sensor, and a low restriction check valve which is integrated into the outlet port of the venturi vacuum generator. The pressure sensor is capable of detecting the small pressure drop (i.e., vacuum) generated at the air inlet tube or air box during naturally aspirated conditions. The check valve closes the venturi vacuum generator on the purge side during naturally aspirated conditions, allowing fluid communication to the air intake system through one port only, and the detection of the vacuum during these conditions. If a hose becomes detached, either at the outlet port of the venturi vacuum generator or at the air box, the small vacuum is not detected, and the ECU then diagnoses the hose-off condition.

An electronic compressor bypass valve (eCBV) module includes a pedestal housing, and a compressor bypass valve mounted to the pedestal housing. An inlet port, a first outlet port, and a second outlet port are integrally formed as part of the pedestal housing, where pressurized air flows into the inlet port. The eCBV module also includes a venturi device at least partially disposed in the second outlet port. When the compressor bypass valve is in an open position, a portion of the pressurized air flows through the first outlet port, and a portion of the pressurized air flows from the inlet port through the venturi device and through the second outlet port. When the compressor bypass valve is in the closed position the pressurized air is prevented from flowing into the first outlet port, and all of the pressurized air flows through the venturi device and through the second outlet port.

eCBV module

A three-port turbo purge module, including a housing having a cavity, and two check valves. During a first mode of operation, the first check valve is open and the second check valve is closed by vacuum pressure generated in an intake manifold, such that purge vapor flows from an inlet port into the cavity, through the first check valve, and into a first port. During a second mode of operation, where the intake manifold is operating under positive pressure, the first check valve is closed such that pressurized air flowing into the first port is accelerated through a venturi device disposed in the cavity, and the second check valve is open such that purge vapor flows from the inlet port into the cavity, through the venturi device and mixes with the high-velocity air, through the second check valve into the second port.

Three-port turbo purge module

A valve assembly providing flow control between a fuel tank and a carbon canister, which includes two valves providing two different flow paths, where the first valve provides active vacuum relief along the first flow path, and the second valve provides passive vacuum relief along the second flow path. A reservoir is added to the cap which is common for both flow paths. The second valve has a sealing valve member and a biasable member that passively relieves fuel tank vacuum pressure at a predetermined vacuum level.

A valve assembly, such as a canister purge solenoid (CPS) having one or more interchangeable components which may be used to reconfigure the valve assembly to have one or more additional vacuum ports. The design of the valve assembly eliminates the need to mold these ports into the intake manifold, simplifying the design of the manifold, and the tooling needed to make the manifold. The direct mount design of the CPS of the present invention includes at least one additional port to serve as an additional vacuum port to be used for any other purpose, such as a PCV valve, brake booster, or the like.

A venturi valve assembly, having a flow tube, an upper port integrally formed with flow tube, a flow cavity disposed within the flow tube, an inlet formed as part of the flow tube such that the inlet forms a part of the flow cavity, an outlet formed as part of the flow tube such that the outlet forms a part of the flow cavity, and a venturi nozzle disposed in the flow tube. Pressurized air flows into the flow cavity from the inlet such that the pressurized air flows around the venturi nozzle. Purge vapor flows into the flow cavity from the upper port, and the flow rate of the pressurized air is increased after flowing around the venturi nozzle, increasing the flow of the purge vapor after the purge vapor is mixed with the pressurized air in the flow tube.

High performance vacuum venturi pump

A system which includes a turbo bypass switching valve (BSV) positioned at a beneficial location as a direct mount on an air box to achieve compliance to OBD hose-off requirement via electronic actuation of the BSV and monitoring of the fuel tank pressure sensor for pressure change. When the turbocharger unit is generating pressurized air, the turbo BSV is open, and vapor is passing through the purge valve, some level of vacuum in the fuel tank is sensed. By closing the BSV, flow through the venturi is reduced, producing both less vacuum and a change in fuel tank pressure. The pressure change does not occur if any of the hoses become disconnected. This results in a simple OBD 'venture hose off' check without additional components.

A linear actuator includes a plastic housing having an integral flange for mounting the actuator. A stator assembly, having windings, is disposed in the plastic housing. A rotor assembly, having a permanent magnet, is mounted for rotation with respect to the stator assembly such that when the windings are energized, a magnetic field is generated to cause rotation of the rotor assembly. A shaft is restricted from rotation and is associated with the rotor assembly such that rotation of the rotor assembly causes linear movement of the shaft. Connector structure houses leads for powering the windings. The plastic housing has an annular end that captures an annular surface of the connector structure to couple the plastic housing to the connector structure.

An apparatus and method for retaining a poppet seal with respect to a housing of an integrated pressure management system. The integrated pressure management system includes an aperture near a mouth of a housing, and the mouth includes a tip that is deformable so as to retain the poppet seal in the aperture. The apparatus includes a die and a collet. The die moves along an axis, and includes a face adapted to engage the mouth. The face includes a forming-over section adapted to engage the tip. The collet surrounds the die and extends along the axis between first and second axial ends. The collet includes first and second portions. The first portion extends between the first axial end and an intermediate axial position. The second portion extends between the intermediate axial position and the second axial end, and includes a plurality of segments positioned about the axis. Each of the plurality of segments includes at the second axial end a radially inward projecting tooth, and each tooth includes a tapered face.
