A product pusher device comprising an elongated guide track and a pusher sled slidably guided along the track for urging product packages forwardly on a display shelf. The pusher sled incorporates a housing for containing a coiled strip spring element. The end extremity of the spring is anchored at the forward end of the guide track, and t he coiled body spring is confined within the housing at the back of the sled. By constructing the sled housing with an open bottom, assembly is greatly facilitated by allowing the spring to be anchored on the guide track independently of the sled and thereafter allowing the sled to be lowered over the coiled body of the spring and pressed downward to be snapped into assembled position on the guide track.

Product pusher

A shelf organizing system for dividing flat merchandise display shelving. An extruded front rail member typically of generally L-shaped configuration is secured to the front of a shelf, providing a vertical barrier wall. A retention channel, preferably including one or more resilient retention flanges, is formed integrally with the front rail member. Divider elements, extruded in continuous lengths and cut to desired length for particular shelf width, are formed with a vertical flange and a horizontal stabilizing flange. The stabilizing flange is insertable in the retention channel, at any point along its length, and is tightly gripped therein to hold the divider element in any desired position. The divider element may be easily installed by pressing laterally into contact with merchandise to be segregated, and then moving the divider into the retention channel. Divider elements may also be formed advantageously of wire instead of plastic. The system facilitates maintenance of neat shelf displays, which has been proven to increase sales.

Shelf organizing system

A product display strip is formed of an elongated metal strip, arranged to be suspended in vertical orientation in front of conventional product display shelving, to provide highly visible special product display facing in both directions along a store isle. The strip is formed with integral, product support tongues, extending upward and outward from the body of the strip, alternately in opposite directions, allowing product to be displayed on both sides of the strip. Upper extremities of the product support tongues are oriented generally vertically to inhibit accidental dislodgment of displayed packages.

Product display strip

A dual purpose label holder for mounting on a merchandise display hook having label support means in the form of a cross bar or mounting plate fixedly attached to the outward end of a label holder arm. The label holder is formed of plastic and has a back panel formed with upper and lower mounting portions for pivotal attachment to a cross bar or fixed attachment to a mounting plate. The upper mounting portions serves in a dual capacity, either for pivotal engagement with a cross bar or for fixed engagement with the upper edge of a mounting plate. The label holder preferably has flexibly connected front and back panels, opening at the top, for receiving printed information labels.

Dual purpose label holder adapted for mounting on a cross bar or mounting plate of a merchandise display hook

An adapter device for mounting a pivoting label holder on a merchandise display hook originally designed for fixed label holders and having a label support arm formed with a laterally extending label support portion at the outer end thereof. The adapter device includes a plastic body for mounting on the shaft of the merchandise display hook and has a cross bar aligned perpendicular to the label support arm, for the support of a pivoting label holder. The cross bar can comprise a cross bar portion extending laterally from the adapter body in a direction opposite to and coaxial with the laterally extending label support portion of the label support arm, thereby forming a combined support for the pivoting label holder. A forwardly-open stabilizing element engages the label support portion to prevent the adapter from pivoting about the shaft. Alternatively, the adapter device can include an integral full-width cross bar for mounting the pivoting label holder, with elements for stabilizing and positively locating the adapter.

Adapter with cross bar for mounting pivoting label holders

A flip-up label holder for pivotal mounting on a cross bar at the outer end of a merchandise display hook device. The label holder, formed by extrusion of relatively thin, somewhat flexible plastic material is arranged to be mounted by store personnel for pivotal movement on a cross bar at the end of a display hook. An improved form of mounting clip is provided on the label holder to simultaneously facilitate the initial mounting of the label holder on the cross bar, and to enhance the security by which the label holder is retained thereon, to minimize accidental dislodgement of the label holder from its mounted position. A mounting clip on the back of the label holder defines a narrow throat through which the cross bar is forced when mounting the label holder. The new label holder includes one or more angularly disposed rib-like projections engageable with the cross bar during a mounting operation to facilitate the action of camming open the mounting clip at the throat. Once the cross bar is passed through the throat, these same rib-like projections act to inhibit return passage of the cross bar through the throat in an opposite direction thus retaining the label holder more securely on the cross bar.

Flip-up label holder with improved mounting feature

A merchandise display hook provided with an improved support structure for a pivoting label holder. A label-mounting arm extends and terminates above a merchandise display arm. An integral cross bar, which is formed by bending the end of the label mounting arm wire, provides a pivot mount for a plastic label holding device. The arrangement provides enhanced function, while at the same time achieving desirable manufacturing economies. In one embodiment, the label mounting arm wire is bent once at a right angle to form the cross bar. In another embodiment, the wire is bent twice--once to form an integral, intermediary section and once to form the cross bar. In a third embodiment, the wire is bent a third time to form another integral section, angled rearwardly toward the label mounting arm forming a triangular end portion. The cross bar can include a portion projecting through the label holder to retain and center the label holder.

Merchandise display hook with integral support for pivoting label holder

An integrally formed, injection molded merchandise display hook for mounting on spaced-apart, parallel rods has a resiliently-deformable mounting clip adapted to mount to the rods, and a label support arm and a merchandise support arm extending outwardly from the mounting clip. A stabilizing member spans between the label support arm and the merchandise support arm and is spaced a short distance from the mounting clip to provide rigidity and to maintain the arms in a parallel relationship.

All-plastic merchandise display hook with label holder

A merchandise display hook provided with an improved form of pivoting label holder. A label-mounting arm extends above and terminates forwardly of a merchandise display arm. A transversely disposed cross bar is secured to an outer surface portion of the label-mounting arm, spaced from the end extremity thereof, by electric resistance welding. The cross bar provides a pivot mount for a plastic label holding device, with the end extremity of the label mount serving as an abutment stop to limit rearward pivoting movement of the label holder. The cross bar can be so positioned on the label mounting arm as to provide for a normal, slightly upwardly tilted orientation of the label holder, to facilitate viewing. In one embodiment, the outer end of the label mounting arm is bent downwardly, and the cross bar is welded to the downwardly bent portion. In another embodiment, the label mounting arm is straight, and the cross bar is welded to the upper surface thereof, spaced slightly from the outer end face of the arm. The arrangement provides enhanced function, while at the same time achieving desirable manufacturing economies.

Merchandise display hook with pivoting label holder

A merchandise display hook is provided with an adaptor for adjusting the at-rest, supported viewing angle of a pivoting label holder. The adaptor mounts to the end of the label support arm and contacts the back panel of the labelholder to alter the at-rest viewing angle. In one embodiment, the adaptor has a slidable gripping portion for slidable mounting on the label support arm and an abutment section for contacting the back panel of the label holder. In another embodiment, the adaptor mounts on the cross bar of the label holder arm and has an alternate cross bar for pivotal support of the label holder. The adaptor is configured to alter the at-rest viewing angle of the label holder.

Merchandise display hook with viewing angle adjustment for pivoting

A merchandise display hook is provided with an adaptor to adjust the at-rest viewing angle of a pivoting label holder of a merchandise display hook. The adaptor mounts to the end of the label support arm and contacts the back panel of the label holder to alter the at-rest viewing angle. In one embodiment, the adaptor has a slidable gripping portion for slidable mounting on the label support arm and an abutment section for contacting the back panel of the label holder. In another embodiment, the adaptor mounts on the cross bar of the label holder arm and has an alternate cross bar for pivotal support of the label holder. The adaptor is configured to alter the at-rest viewing angle of the label holder.

A novel method and apparatus is disclosed for the production of single plane ladder-type rack strip material in which wire cross bar elements are Tee-welded to the inside surface portions of opposed, parallel side elements formed of similar wire material. The welding procedure involves contacting the cross bar element centrally with an electrode of a first polarity and contacting the wire side elements on opposite sides with electrodes of a second polarity. During the welding operation, current flows substantially equally from the first electrode in opposite directions through the opposite weld interfaces to the opposed second electrodes. By observing physical symmetry in the electrical supply at opposite sides, equalization of current flow is optimized so that the emerging rack strip product is flat and straight, suitable for commercial marketing. By forming the rack strip elements in a single plane, the elements can be formed into a wide variety of modular components for the assembly of a variety of useful rack and shelving structures. Novel forms of mounting and connecting blocks are also disclosed.

A merchandise display hook provided with an improved form of pivoting label holder. A merchandise supporting arm extends below and terminates forwardly of a label supporting arm. A cross bar provides a pivot mount for a plastic label holding device, with the end extremity of the merchandise support arm serving as an abutment stop to limit rearward pivoting movement of the label holder. The cross bar can be so positioned as to provide for a normal, slightly upwardly tilted orientation of the label holder, to facilitate viewing. In one embodiment, the cross bar is welded to the shaft of the label support arm. In other embodiments, the label support arm is bent to form a cross bar at right angles to the shaft.
