Aqueous dispersions including at least one thermoplastic resin; at least one dispersing agent; and water; wherein the dispersion has a pH of less than 12 are disclosed along with dispersions including at least one thermoplastic resin; at least one dispersing agent; and water wherein the dispersion has a volume average particle size of less than about 5 &#x3bc;m. Some dispersions include less than about 4 percent by weight of the dispersing agent based on the weight of the thermoplastic resin. Other dispersions include at least one propylene-rich alpha-olefin interpolymer; at least one dispersing agent; and water. Methods of making such dispersions are also described.

Aqueous dispersion, its production method, and its use

An aqueous dispersions including (A) at least one ethylene-based polyolefin forming a dispersed polymer phase; (B) at least one dispersing agent; and (C) water; wherein the dispersion has a pH of less than 12; and wherein the dispersed polymer phase has a volume average particle size of less than about 5 microns. In other aspects, an article or a substrate including a coating, wherein the coating was obtained from an aqueous dispersion comprising (A) at least one of an ethylene-based polyolefin and a propylene-based polyolefin; (B) at least one dispersing agent; and (C) water; wherein the dispersion had a pH of less than 12.

Aqueous-based, dispersed olefin polymers, froths, durable, open-cell foam compositions, structures and articles derived from same; methods for preparation of such froths and foams; and use of the dry durable foams in various applications are disclosed. Further described is use of the foams and structures and articles made of same in absorption, filtration, insulation, cushioning and backing applications, and in particular for odor removal, hygiene and medical applications due to, among other properties, good absorption capabilities, softness and/or flexibility of the foams and their recyclable nature.

Froth and durable foam of dispersed olefin polymers, methods of making foam and articles prepared from same

Disclosed are adhesives and processes for preparing the same, comprising at least one first homogeneous ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin interpolymer, and optionally at least one tackifier, and optionally at least one plasticizer. The claimed adhesives are useful as adhesives such as are employed in various applications, such as in masking tape, clear office tape, labels, decals, bandages, decorative and protective sheets (such as shelf and drawer liners), floor tiles, sanitary napkin/incontinence device placement strips, sun control films, the joining of gaskets to automobile windows, packaging, bookbinding, construction of nonwoven articles, and insulation bonding.

Adhesives comprising olefin polymers

Disclosed are compositions comprising at least one substantially random interpolymer of ethylene and a vinylidene aromatic monomer or a hindered aliphatic vinylidene monomer and optionally at least one C -C &agr;-olefin monomer, and at least one tackifier. The claimed compositions are useful in adhesives, such as are employed in various applications, such as in packaging and carton sealing, bookbinding, masking tape, clear office tape, labels, decals, bandages, decorative and protective sheets (such as shelf and drawer liners), floor tiles, sanitary napkin/incontinence device placement strips, sun control films, and the joining of gaskets to automobile windows. The claimed compositions further find use in a variety of applications, such as sealants, coatings, molded articles, and multilayered structures.

What is claimed is a coherent, elastomeric, solid, free-standing film comprising an organic phase comprising: (a) one or more block copolymer(s) corresponding to the formula:

An aqueous dispersion is claimed which is capable of forming a free-standing, coherent, elastomeric, solid film which, after drying and annealing at 80.degree. C. for 30 minutes, demonstrates a tensile strength of about 11.0 MPa or greater wherein the dispersion comprises: I. an organic phase comprising: (a) one or more block copolymer(s) corresponding to the formula A-B-X.sub.m -(B-A).sub.n, wherein each A polymer block consists essentially of a monovinylidene aromatic monomer, having a weight average molecular weight from about 8,000 to about 15,000 Daltons, each B polymer block consists essentially of a conjugated diene and, optionally, a monovinylidene aromatic monomer having a weight average molecular weight from about 30,000 to about 200,000 Daltons, X is the remnant of a multifunctional coupling agent, m is 0 or 1, and n is an integer from 1 to 5, and (b) optionally, an extender for the block copolymer which is compatible with the B block; II. a surfactant; and III. water, wherein the A block effective phase volume in the organic phase is from about 5 to about 20 percent.
