Methods, systems and non-transitory computing device readable media for bite setting in dental treatment planning. In some examples, the methods may include using images and a three-dimensional (3D) model of a dentition. Points may be marked on the 3D model corresponding to points marked in the images of first and second jaws in the different relative positions. A pivot point and/or a range of motion of the first and second jaws may be based on the marked points. Forces may be repeatedly applying on the points of the 3D model to move the first jaw with respect to the second jaw using the determined pivot point and/or range of motion until the first jaw ceases moving, thereby indicating that a stable bite position has been achieved. The forces on the points of the 3D model may be provided for a dental treatment plan for the dentition.

Embodiments are provided for digital dental modeling. One method embodiment includes receiving a three-dimensional data set including a first jaw and a second jaw of a three-dimensional digital dental model and receiving a two-dimensional data set corresponding to at least a portion of the first jaw and the second jaw. The method includes mapping two-dimensional data of the two-dimensional data set to the three-dimensional digital dental model by transforming a coordinate system of the two-dimensional data to a coordinate system of the three-dimensional data set. The method includes positioning the first jaw with respect to the second jaw based on the two-dimensional data mapped to the three-dimensional data set. The method includes using at least a portion of the two-dimensional data mapped to the three-dimensional data set as a target of movement of the first jaw with respect to the second jaw in the three-dimensional digital dental model.

In some embodiments, an appliance includes a shell having an inner surface and an outer surface, the inner surface defining a plurality of tooth-receiving cavities configured to apply a repositioning force to a patient's teeth, and the outer surface oriented away from the patient's teeth. The appliance can also include a reservoir integrally formed in the outer surface of the shell, the reservoir being configured to store at least one agent. The appliance can further include a membrane covering at least a portion of the reservoir to control release of the agent into an intraoral cavity of the patient. The membrane can include a plurality of pores that are configured to open based at least in part on a temperature of the patient's intraoral cavity to allow the at least one agent to pass therethrough.
