A non-shortening catheter balloon having a longitudinal axis and an inflatable balloon able to be affixed to a catheter shaft is provided. The balloon has an uninflated length which remains relatively unchanged upon inflation and is formed of least two helically oriented wrapped passes of balloon materials at a balanced force angle. Methods of making this balloon are also provided.

Systems and methods for dynamic computer aided innovation via multidimensional complementary difference recommendation and exploration are disclosed including categorizing a first and second data element in a database with a first attribute and second attribute, respectively, of a first dimension, a dimension being an aspect of a situation, problem, or thing. The first and second data elements are categorized with a first attribute and a second attribute of a second dimension, the second dimension being different from the first dimension. Analyzing the first and second attribute of the first dimension and the first and second attribute of the second dimension to determine a ratio of similarity and dissimilarity; calculating a composite score of the ratio of the first dimension and the ratio of the second dimension; and generating and storing a link between the first and second data element when the composite score is within numerical limits.

A server transmits to a client computer a blueprint for visualizing and interacting with data, wherein the blueprint defines an application, for visualizing and interacting with data. The application may operate on the client computer within a web browser and may include program code or scripts that operate within the web browser and transmit data and commands to and from the server. In response to receiving a data fetch message from the application, the server receives data from a selected one of a plurality of domains. The server then transforms the received data into a semantic data format. The transformed data is then stored by the server as a first data set. The first data set can then be transmitted to the client computer for further processing and visualization by the application using the blueprint.

The present invention provides a stretchable material suitable for use in an inflatable medical device. Combinatorial application framework for interoperability and repurposing of code components

A hemostatic putty for treatment of a variety of wounds topographies, including but not limited to highly three dimensional wounds, for example gunshot wounds and impalements, is disclosed. The putty is comprised of a matrix polymer weakly crosslinked or not crosslinked such that a viscoelastic matrix is formed. The viscoelastic nature of the putty is tunable by the composition and enables the putty to conform to a variety of wound topographies. Likewise, a hemostatic polymer, for example chitosan or hydrophobically modified chitosan, is included in this matrix to impart hemostatic properties and tissue adhesive on the putty. The hemostatic polymers disclosed prevent microbial infection and are suitable for oxygen transfer required during normal wound metabolism.

A system and method for assessing cardiovascular fitness of a subject. A local monitoring device is coupled to the subject for acquiring input data related to the subject. A remote monitoring system is communicatively coupled to the local monitoring device over a network for receiving the input data. The remote monitoring system includes a non-transitory memory having stored thereon an algorithm to be applied to the input data. A processor having access to the memory and algorithm is configured to calculate heart rate complexity (HRC) data based on the input data, compare the HRC data to at least one predetermined threshold value, and process the HRC data in relation to the at least one predetermined threshold value to generate a cardiovascular fitness level of the subject. A display is coupled to the remote monitoring system and configured to display a report related to the cardiovascular fitness level of the subject.

A system and method for warming a fluid for intravenous administration is presented. The system includes an enclosure, a frangible bladder disposed at least partially within the enclosure, and a first reactant of an exothermic reaction disposed within the frangible bladder. The apparatus includes a second reactant of the exothermic reaction disposed within the enclosure and external to the frangible bladder, and a channel at least partially enclosed by the enclosure. The frangible bladder is configured to be ruptured to mix at least a portion of the first reactant and the second reactant to initiate the exothermic reaction, thereby warming at least a portion of the channel.
