Devices and methods can be used to treat heart conditions, hypertension, and other medical disorders. For example, devices and methods for treating atrial fibrillation by performing thoracic vein ablation procedures, including pulmonary vein myocardium ablation are described herein. In some embodiments, the ablation is performed in coordination with the delivery a pharmacological agent that can abate the formation of tissue stenosis or neointimal hyperplasia caused by the ablation.

Devices and methods for ablation of tissue

In accordance with some embodiments of the disclosed subject matter, mechanisms for distributed network monitoring are provided. In some embodiments, a system for distributed network monitoring comprises: local monitors, each comprising: a processor programmed to: generate a model of normal network traffic between a computing device and a router; receive additional traffic; calculate a metric based on a metadata parameter of the additional traffic; determine, based on the metric, whether the additional traffic is anomalous; and transmit, to a central monitoring system, information indicating that the additional traffic is anomalous; and the central monitoring system comprising: a second processor programmed to: receive information indicating that the additional traffic is anomalous; receive information related to the additional traffic; determine, based on the information, that the additional traffic is anomalous; and take an action to secure communications across the portion of the network associated with the additional traffic.

Systems, methods, and media for distributed network monitoring using local monitoring devices

Devices and methods for the treatment of heart conditions, hypertension, and other medical disorders are described. For example, this document describes devices and methods for treating atrial fibrillation by performing thoracic vein ablation procedures, including pulmonary vein myocardium ablation. In some embodiments, the ablation is performed in coordination with the delivery a pharmacological agent that can abate the formation of tissue stenosis or neointimal hyperplasia caused by the ablation. Additionally, in some embodiments, particulate matter, such as thrombus or crystalline drug compounds, created during the ablation is captured and removed from the patient using devices and methods provided herein. Further, devices and methods for non-thermal methods of causing cell death, such as tissue suction and tissue stretching, are also described.

A quality of the physiological signal received may be evaluated, and an analysis of the physiological signal may be based at least in part on the quality evaluation.

In some embodiments, a system for estimating compensatory reserve is provided, the system comprising: a processor programmed to: receive a blood pressure waveform of a subject; generate a first sample of the blood pressure waveform with a first duration; provide the sample as input to a trained CNN that was trained using samples of the first duration from blood pressure waveforms recorded from subjects while decreasing the subject's central blood volume, each sample being associated with a compensatory reserve metric; receive, from the trained CNN, a first compensatory reserve metric based on the first sample; and cause information indicative of remaining compensatory reserve to be presented.

Various aspects of the present disclosure are directed toward apparatuses, systems, and methods for applying ablation therapy to a tissue region. The apparatuses, systems, and methods may include a balloon structure and one or more electrodes arranged on or within the balloon structure and configured to deliver energy to the tissue region.

Stenosis prevention and ablation delivery system

Some embodiments of a mapping device may be capable of passing through cerebral veins and other cerebrovascular spaces to provide electrophysiological mapping of the brain. These embodiments of the device may also be capable of providing, simultaneously or separately, ablation energy or other treatments to targeted brain tissue. In such circumstances, a user may be enabled to analyze an electrophysiological map of a patient's brain and, at the same time or within a short time period before or after the mapping process, may be enabled to apply ablation energy for treatment of a central nervous system disorder. Such treatment may be accomplished without the use of invasive surgery in which the brain is accessed through an opening in the patient's cranium.

An apparatus and method of use are disclosed for treating, preventing and terminating arrhythmias. In particular, the apparatus is implantable within or on various tissues and structures and is used to prevent or block conduction of aberrant impulses. A variety of methods of the present invention may be used to attack arrhythmias by short-circuiting impulses, inducing fibrosis, ablating tissue or inducing inflammation. In addition, the device and methods may also be used to treat aneurysms. The device may also be used to treat hypertension, and to function as a blood pressure regulator.

Anti-arrhythmia devices and methods of use

Systems and methods that provide magnetically-enhanced delivery of therapeutic agents to selected tissue are disclosed. The systems and methods involve the use of carrier devices and release devices and two different magnetic fields to move magnetic particles into selected tissue. Movement of the magnetic particles (and any associated therapeutic agent) into the tissue may be assisted by both magnetic attractive forces as well as magnetic repulsive forces.
