Methods and uses are described for treating or preventing diseases of humans or non-human animals by reducing the amount of active leukotriene B(LTB) in those in need of such treatment using LTBhydroxylases. In certain embodiments, LTBhydroxylase is administered in combination with nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate and/or an NADPH-cytochrome P-450 reductase. The invention is particularly useful for treating or preventing respiratory diseases that are caused or exacerbated by inflammation.

A method for treating cerebral vascular diseases in a human or non-human animal is disclosed. The method involves inhibiting 20-HETE synthesizing enzyme activity sufficiently to increase or prevent a decrease in cerebral blood flow in the human or non-human animal.

Use of 20-HETE synthesizing enzyme inhibitors as therapy for cerebral vascular disease

20-HETE agonists and antagonists are disclosed along with therapeutic applications. In a preferable form of the invention, the 20-HETE agonists are selected from the group consisting of 21-hydroxyheneicosa-5(Z), 8(Z), 11(Z), 14(Z)-tetraenoic acid, 20-hydroxyeicosa-5(Z), 14(Z)-dienoic acid and 20-, 21-dimethyl 20-HETE. Preferable 20-HETE antagonists include 5(S)-HETE, 15(S)-HETE, 19(S)-HETE, 19-hydroxynonadeca-5(Z), 8(Z), 11(Z), 14(Z)-tetraenoic acid and 20-hydroxyeicosa 6(Z), 15(Z)-dienoic acid.

A quick connect/disconnect pipe coupling comprising a female receptacle member, a locking collar adapted to be slidably engaged over one end of the female receptacle member, and a male plug member adapted to be inserted into the collar engaged female receptacle member to form a tight connection therebetween. The collar includes radial locking flanges for engaging cooperating annular ridges on the plug and receptacle members, respectively. Slidable movement of the collar toward the receptacle member disengages the locking flange on the collar from the annular ridge on the male plug member thereby enabling a quick disconnect of the female receptacle member and collar from the male plug member.
