A seat belt buckle presenter assembly () has a guide track () and a buckle presenter assembly (). The guide track () is anchored to a vehicle seat frame at a first end and a second end. The buckle presenter assembly () is secured to and mounted onto the guide track () and is movable along the guide track () from a stowed position at the first end to an extended position toward the second end. Preferably, the guide track () is inclined having the first end of the guide track () fixed lower than the second end.

Seat belt buckle presenter assembly

A ramp deflector mechanism () for attachment to a vehicle frame () has a metal housing () having a first wall or plate (), a second wall or plate (), a hinge () and an articulated third wall or plate (); an inflatable member () situated in the housing (); an inflator () operatively connected between the first wall or plate () and the inflatable member (); and wherein the inflation of the inflation member () causes the articulated wall () to rotate outwardly to absorb crash energy and slow down the accident.

Tongue

An inflator for producing inflation gas from a propellant has a housing for storing the propellant, a diffuser for attachment to the inflator housing and a sealing member. The diffuser has one or more open passages for passing inflation gas upon ignition of the propellant and a plurality of sealed passages oriented opposite to the one or more open passages. The sealing member covers the sealed passages. The sealing member is consumed when exposed to an open flame thereby opening the sealed passages to vent inflation gases opposite the opposed one or more open passages to create a thrust neutral exhaust upon an inadvertent ignition of the propellant due to exposure to fire.

Thrust neutral inflator assembly

An inflatable member is inflated by compressed gas that flows through the latch and hollow tubular tongue of a seat belt anchor. The inflatable member is retained in an uninflated condition in a split two layer belt. The latch is pivotally secured to a conduit that receives compressed inflation gas from a cylinder that is provided with a diffuser.

A height adjuster () for a vehicle safety restraint comprising: a rail () for providing a vertical path guide for a carrier (); the carrier () configured to be vertically movable along the rail to one of a plurality of locations, the carrier also configured to rotationally support the web guide (). The height adjuster also comprises a lock mechanism () movable between a locked and an unlocked condition, when in a locked condition the carrier is prohibited from moving down the rail and when in an unlocked condition the carrier is free to be moved; and a return spring mechanism () comprising a coiled return spring having an interior or coiled end () and a distal end (), the interior end configured not to rotate as the carrier is moved and a distal end of the return spring secured to one of the carrier and release mechanism.

The inertial sensor mass () has a body () having the wide portion () and optionally the narrow portion () with preferably one or more elastomeric protruding member () extending from said body (). The one or more protruding members () are movable relative to said body () and soften contact rattle impacts thus reducing noise.

One end of the cable is adapted to be connected to a piston for moving the cable (or alternately to a static anchor) and an opposite end of the cable adapted to be operably connected to a seat belt buckle, a portion of the cable impregnated with a first material to increase the stiffness of the cable, the cable configured to be drawn into the cable guide and to dissipate energy as it is so moved. A height adjuster for a vehicle safety restraint has a web guide () and a track () for the web guide. The web guide () is vertically moveable along the track (). A lock () has a lock condition for preventing vertical movement of the web guide () along the track () and an unlocked condition for allowing vertical movement of the web guide () along the track (). A release mechanism () is operatively connectable to said lock (). The release mechanism () has a release position for placing the lock () in the unlocked condition and an unreleased position from maintaining the lock () in the lock condition. A lift mechanism () at least partially assists vertical movement of the web guide () along the track () and biases the release mechanism () toward the unreleased position.

Height adjuster with spring having dual functions

A height adjuster () for a seat belt system comprising a mounting bar (), a carrier () and a spring-loaded locking lever (). The mounting bar is preferably oval or rectangular in cross-section with at least one wall (side wall), which acts as an engagement or locking surface. The engagement surface can include a plurality of small teeth. The bar is adapted to be mounted to a support surface or structure. The carrier is slidably mounted on the bar and is movable to different positions. The carrier includes a main portion, which may be U-shaped in cross-section with a top, a bottom and a center wall. Each of the top and bottom walls includes a first opening through which the mounting bar extends. A friction coupling () can automatically move the locking lever to its free position without manual intervention.
