A cosmetic compact includes a base and a cap. The base includes a cosmetic well in which a cosmetic may be disposed. The cap is affixed to the base to form an enclosure, with the cosmetic well disposed therein. The cap includes a cosmetic applicator holder, also disposed within the enclosure, which is adapted to engage and secure a cosmetic applicator opposite the cosmetic well.

An elongate container includes a cylindrical chamber having an opening at one end of the container. A collar is affixed to the elongate container, and a threaded rod is axially disposed within the cylindrical chamber and coupled to the collar. The collar is adapted to rotate the threaded rod relative to the elongate container. A piston is disposed within the cylindrical chamber and is threadingly engaged with the threaded rod. The piston includes a sealing ring adapted to circumferentially seal against an inner wall of the cylindrical chamber and at least two axially aligned ribs. The ribs are disposed on a side of the piston and seated against the inner wall of the cylindrical chamber. With this arrangement, rotation of the threaded rod causes translation of the piston in the axial direction.

A container system for a cosmetic product and/or a cosmetic product applicator may include at least one base including a receptacle having an opening. The receptacle may be configured to contain a cosmetic product and/or an applicator for applying a cosmetic product. The system may also include a device including a cover configured to close the opening, and a tab hingedly associated with the cover. The tab may include a connecting portion configured to removably connect the tab to the base.

A device such as a compact or product container includes a plurality of stacked sections or housings, which are pivotable with respect to each other. The sections are substantially aligned with each other when the device is in a closed position, and when pivoted with respect to each other, the device is opened to allow access to compartments or reservoirs of the different sections. According to an example, a lower housing or section can include a projection which is received in a groove formed in the adjacent section and a depth of the groove can change from a first end of the groove to a second end of the groove to thereby change and vary the resistance felt by the user.

At least one aperture is formed on a portion of the piston to allow air compressed in the device to flow there through.

A device for containing and dispensing a product includes a housing configured to contain the product having at least one aperture formed in one end of the housing. A sealing member is provided separately from the housing and includes at least one projection on a first surface of the sealing member, wherein the at least one projection is configured to be engaged with the at least one aperture to prevent the product from being discharged from the housing through the at least one aperture.
