A lighting apparatus a first group of at least one first solid state emitter, each first solid state emitter including a first light emitting diode ('LED') that, when excited, emits light having a peak wavelength in a range between about 440 nm and about 475 nm, and a second group of at least one second solid state emitter, each second solid state emitter comprising a second LED that, when excited, emits light having a peak wavelength in a range between about 390 nm and about 415 nm. Between about 2% and about 15% of a spectral power of light emitted from the lighting apparatus is light having wavelengths in the range between about 390 nm and about 415 nm.

A lighting controller comprises power circuitry, transmitter circuitry, a touch-sensitive panel, and processing circuitry. The power circuitry is configured to relay power from the lighting controller to a solid state lighting fixture wired to the lighting controller. The transmitter circuitry is configured to wirelessly exchange signals with the solid state lighting fixture. The touch-sensitive panel is configured to emit light and receive touch input from a user. The processing circuitry is electrically coupled to the power circuitry, the transmitter circuitry, and the touch-sensitive panel. The processing circuitry is configured to wirelessly control, via the transmitter circuitry, the attribute of light emitted by the solid state lighting fixture in accordance with the touch input received via the touch-sensitive panel and control the light emitted from the touch-sensitive panel to indicate the attribute as the attribute is wirelessly controlled.

A lighting wall controller can be a retrofit for existing light switches, and the lighting wall control replaces the conventional light switch and can still work as a conventional light switch or other power switch with 'dumb' lights or appliances while providing the ability to control 'smart' lights and/or other &#x201c;smart&#x201d; devices with voice commands. In addition to controlling lights and/or devices, voice commands can be used to provide information or actions back to the user in response to the voice command. The lighting wall controller thereby provides voice control functionality without requiring additional devices, such as additional voice control appliances.

A LED lamp has at least two LEDs to provide light of at least two different spectral outputs. An optic element has an entry surface disposed to receive the light from the LEDs. The entry surface includes refracting surfaces that refract the light tangentially. The refracting surfaces may extend radially relative to a center of the entry surface. The refracting surfaces may be continuously curved in cross-section where the refracting surfaces may include convex refracting surfaces and concave refracting surfaces.

In a LED lamp having an optically transmissive enclosure and a base connected to the enclosure a plurality of LEDs are operable to emit light when energized through an electrical path from the base. A reflector has an enclosed wall shape and is disposed such that LEDs are mounted inside of and outside of the reflector. The reflector includes a reflective outer surface where in cross-section the reflective outer surface is disposed at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the lamp such that the reflective outer surface diverges away from the longitudinal axis as it extends away from the base. The reflective outer surface may be disposed at an angle of between approximately 83 and 89 degrees relative to the plane of the LEDs.

A PWM dimmer includes a source terminal, a load terminal, a power stage, an interface, and control circuitry. The power stage is coupled between the source terminal and the load terminal and is configured to receive from the source terminal an AC supply signal and provide a pulsed AC load signal to the load terminal in response to a control signal. The AC supply signal has a sinusoidal envelope with a positive half-cycle and a negative half-cycle for each cycle. The pulsed AC load signal tracks the envelope and includes a plurality of pulses in the positive half-cycle and the negative half-cycle for each cycle. The interface is configured to receive dimming control information bearing on a dimming level from a user or remote terminal. The control circuitry is configured to receive the dimming control information from the interface and generate the control signal based on the dimming control information.

A LED lamp includes an at least partially optically transmissive enclosure and a base. A LED assembly comprising at least one LED is located in the enclosure and is operable to emit light when energized through an electrical path from the base. A heat sink comprises a heat dissipating portion that is at least partially exposed to the ambient environment and a heat conducting portion that is thermally coupled to the at least one LED. The heat sink is connected to the base by a snap fit connector comprising a deformable first member on one of the base or heat sink engaging a second member on the other one of the heat sink and the base. A retention member holds the first member in engagement with the second member. A seal is positioned between the heat sink and the base, the seal being compressed between the heat sink and the base.

A LED lamp includes an elongated at least partially optically transmissive enclosure having a first end and a second end. LEDs are in the enclosure and are operable to emit light through the enclosure when energized through an electrical path. A first pin is mounted to the first end of the enclosure and a second pin mounted to the second end of the enclosure, the first pin and the second pin are in the electrical path. The LEDs are mounted on an LED board. A plurality of discrete braces are spaced along the length of the LED board and are mounted to the LED board. The braces support and position the LED board in the enclosure.

A LED fixture is provided, the lamp comprising a LED board having a thermally conductive periphery, the LED board comprising at least one LED operable to emit light when energized through an electrical path from a base; and a heat sink assembly thermally coupled to the thermally conductive periphery.

An enclosure is divided into first and second portions by a theoretical plane defined by a horizontal line. LEDs are mounted on an LED board in the enclosure and are operable to emit light when energized through an electrical path. A first pin is mounted to a first end of the enclosure and a second pin mounted to a second end of the enclosure, both pins being in the electrical path. Braces support the LED board and comprise first and second legs. The first leg and second leg extend to a first point and a second point of intersection of the plane and the internal surface of the enclosure, respectively. A first conductor connects the first pin to the LED board and a second conductor connects the second pin to the LED board. The first conductor and first pin and the second conductor and the second pin are one-piece.
