A method and system. A common route is designated as a traveled route of a mobile device for a series of consecutive movements of the mobile device in a mobile network along a path of locations from an origin location of the path at an earliest activity of two or more activities of the mobile device to a destination location of the path at a latest activity of the two or more activities. A ratio is computed as a ratio of (i) a sum of a coverage area of a start cell in which one activity of the mobile device was initiated and a coverage area of an end cell in which the one activity of the mobile device was terminated to (ii) a distance between a centroid of the start cell and a centroid of the end cell such that the distance has a positive value. A confidence value as a function of the computed ratio is determined.

Determination of a route of a mobile device in a mobile network

A method and system for determining a traveled route of a mobile device in a mobile network. A determination is made of a series of consecutive movements of the mobile device along a path of locations from an origin location of the path at an earliest activity of a plurality of activities of the mobile device to a destination location of the path at a latest activity of the plurality of activities. Historical sets of routes of the mobile device are accessed from storage. At least one common route is ascertained from the set of routes, wherein the locations in each common route include all of the locations on the path. A common route of the at least one common route is designated as the traveled route of the mobile device.

A method of controlling a widget execution device configured for use with a television includes: using a control application on a mobile terminal to wirelessly identify one or more widgets in a data network environment, such that the one or more widgets are suitable for download to the widget execution device; and using the control application to cause the download of the one or more widgets to the widget execution device. The method may involve identifying the one or more widgets on a remote server, the remote server being in communicable relation with the widget execution device; and causing the download of the one or more widgets by selecting the one or more widgets.

A mobile device comprises one or more sensors; a plurality of additional sensors; and logic configured to: obtain one or more first data outputs from the one or more sensors in a first state; obtain one or more second data outputs from the one or more sensors; determine whether there has been a transition from the first state to a second state, based on a difference between the one or more first data outputs and the one or more second data outputs; obtain one or more third data outputs from the plurality of additional sensors if there has been a transition from the first state to the second state; and compare the one or more third data outputs with stored data outputs obtained using the plurality of additional sensors in a third state, thereby determining whether the mobile device is in the third state.

A method of managing a load within a cellular network. The method includes obtaining network usage records from the cellular network; extracting cell information from the network usage records; establishing terminal carrier routes for cellular terminals that have changed location as determined from the extracted cell information; deriving terminal carrier profile attributes for the cellular terminals that have changed location, based on the established terminal carrier routes; determining a load on a resource of the cellular network, based on the established terminal carrier routes and the derived terminal carrier profile attributes; and controlling resources of the cellular network in response to the determined load, so as to manage the load within the cellular network. By combining established terminal carrier routes with derived terminal carrier profile attributes, it is possible to anticipate areas where cellular terminal carriers are likely to be concentrated at specific times during the day and allocate resources accordingly.

Methods of analyzing a cellular network

A method and system for determining a traveled route of a mobile device in a mobile network. Analysis of a network usage record identifies activities and associated activity information of the mobile device. A series of consecutive movements of the mobile device along a path of locations is determined from the activity information. Historical sets of routes of the mobile device are accessed. Each route is a set of locations from an origin location to a destination location of the route. At least one common route is ascertained from the set of routes. The locations in each common route include all of the locations on the path. The origin location and destination location of each common route is the origin location and destination location of the path, respectively. A common route of the at least one common route is designated as the traveled route of the mobile device.

A system and method that allows different participants in a conference call to be identified at a receiving terminal includes watermarking speech data when the uplink information from the terminals of the participants is received at the telecommunications network. The speech data is then combined at a conference bridge in the network and is transmitted in the downlink to the receiving terminal. The receiving terminal uses the watermarks to identify from which of the participants the received speech data originated and is operable to reproduce the speech data from the respective participants at different positions in a 2D or 3D space to help the user of the receiver terminal to identify contributions made by the respective participants.
