The present invention relates to a new method and system for use of a multi-protocol conference bridge, and more specifically a new multi-language conference bridge system and method of use where different cues, such as an attenuated voice of an original non-interpreted speaker, is used to improve the flow of information over the system.

Described herein are embodiments of systems, methods and computer program products for real-time transcription of conference calls that employ voice activity detection, audio snippet capture, and multiple transcription instances to deliver practical real-time or near real-time conference call transcription.

Real-time transcription of conference calls

A system and method for conducting a conference between a plurality of geographically-dispersed participants, with simultaneous interpretation in a plurality of languages, wherein the method comprises establishing an audio bridge for each of the languages, connecting through a network each participant of a plurality of participants to an appropriate one of the bridges based upon a preferred language of the respective participant, and connecting an interpreter to a first one of the bridges and a second one of the bridges, wherein the interpreter simultaneously listens to a speaking one of the participants through the first one of the bridges and speaks a translation into the second one of the bridges, and wherein the audio connections within the system are configured automatically according to the language being spoken and the abilities of the interpreters. Order is maintained by allowing a participant to make a request to speak, and by granting said requests in turn.

Method and system for tele-conferencing with simultaneous interpretation and automatic floor control

Embodiments according to the present invention allow multiple parties equipped with telecommunications devices (endpoint devices) of similar or differing audio capabilities to join in a conference call and enjoy the fidelity associated with their equipment. Rather than operating with the frequency and fidelity limits of traditional telecommunications circuits (for example, about 300-3500 Hz), at least a portion of a conference bridge according to the present invention operates at higher frequencies. Conference participants using high-fidelity endpoint devices hear each other with greater clarity and reproduction accuracy. Conference participants using conventional interfaces send and receive lower-fidelity audio, but it affects only their own participation and not that of the entire conference. Participants can connect via for example, wireline, wireless Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), or via networks such as the Internet. Multiple voice encoding schemes are accommodated.

Multi-fidelity conferencing bridge

Described in this paper are systems and methods of providing conferencing services where a conference participant is identified by the conferencing system when calling into the system. The system and methods focus on individual users instead of groups of participants. Instead of using a conference identity as the driver, embodiments herein invoke a user identity, and services are personalized for each user. The user has far fewer codes to juggle and all participants enjoy a quicker, richer, and more secure experience.

Identity-based conferencing systems and methods

A controlled cooking system (CCS) that monitors, measures, and controls the internal temperature of foods placed in an oven having a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) antenna(s), a transmitter/receiver/interrogator/reader/microprocessor (TRIRM) module and an RFID tag with built-in temperature sensor. The RFID tag is buried in the food being cooked and is energized and enabled by an RF signal of pre-determined frequency. The tag output is an RF 'backscatter signal' having encoded temperature data indicative of the internal temperature of the food that the tag is buried in. The backscatter signal is received and decoded by the antenna(s) and the TRIRM module incorporating a programmed cooking/baking temperatures for various foods. If the decoded temperature is below a user-set temperature, the TRIRM module allows the oven to remain on. Conversely, if the decoded temperature is at or exceeds the user-set temperature, the TRIRM module shuts off the oven and produces a signal that activates an alarm indicating that the cooking has been terminated.

Controlled cooking system

The disclosure is directed to a method and apparatus for making a custom shoe based on non-contact measurements of a particular subject's foot. A foot is placed at an inspection position, and a laser beam is directed at the foot, and scanned in a predetermined pattern over the surface of the foot. The light beam reflected from the foot is detected at a position detector. Surface coordinates of the foot are determined as a function of the detector output. The determined surface coordinates are stored and can then be used in making a shoe having a shape which depends on the stored coordinates. In a preferred embodiment, a rotating scanner is disposed above the inspection position and an oscillating reflector is disposed to one side of the inspection position. The beam of light is reflected from the rotating scanner to the oscillating reflector to the foot, and the beam reflected from the foot is thereafter reflected back to the oscillating reflector, the rotating scanner, and then the detector.
