An exemplary timing generator includes a coarse delay circuit configured to generate a coarse delayed rising edge signal and a coarse delayed falling edge signal from a reference timing signal; a fine delay circuit configured to generate a fine delayed rising edge signal from the coarse delayed rising edge signal and a fine delayed falling edge signal from the coarse delayed falling edge signal; an edge combiner configured to generate the timing signal based on the fine delayed rising edge signal and the fine delayed falling edge signal; and a masking circuit configured to generate a rising edge masking signal and a falling edge masking signal for controlling when the rising edges and the falling edges of the timing signal are generated.

Apparatus and methods for equalization are provided. In certain implementations, an equalizer includes first and second feedback resistors, first and second equalization resistors, an equalization capacitor, and an amplification circuit that includes first to fourth input terminals and first and second output terminals. The amplification circuit can receive a differential input voltage signal between the first and third input terminals, and the first and second equalization resistors and the equalization capacitor are electrically connected in series between the second and fourth input terminals with the equalization capacitor between the first and second equalization resistors. Additionally, the first feedback resistor is electrically connected between the first output terminal and the second input terminal, and the second feedback resistor is electrically connected between the second output terminal and the fourth input terminal.

An ESD protection circuit for an integrated circuit chip may comprise an isolated NMOS transistor, which may comprise an isolation region isolating a backgate from a substrate, and a first and second doped regions and a gate formed on the backgate. The ESD protection circuit may further comprise a first terminal to connect the isolation region to a first electrical node, and a second terminal to connect the second doped region to a second electrical node. The first electrical node may have a higher voltage level than the second electrical node, and the gate and backgate may be coupled to the second terminal.

Methods and apparatus for variable mode drivers

The present invention relates to a semiconductor device including a substrate layer, a metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET), a backgate region, an isolation layer and a diode. The MOSFET includes a gate region, a source region and a drain region. The source and drain regions are embedded in the backgate region, which includes a voltage input terminal. The isolation layer is located between the backgate region and the substrate layer and has a doping type opposite that of the backgate region. The diode includes a first terminal connected to the isolation layer and a second terminal coupled to an isolation voltage source.

The current flow from a temperature-variable current source to a Hall-effect element is adjusted according to sensed temperature conditions of the element to compensate for temperature-dependent changes in the magnetic-field sensitivity of the Hall-effect element and in the magnitude of the permanent magnetic fields of magnetic components sensed by the element. A trimmable resistor is connected between two external terminals of a Monolithically integrated circuit to provide external control over the sensitivity of the temperature variable current source to changing temperature conditions. The device also alternately switches the quadrature states of output and bias supply contacts of the Hall-effect element to compensate for the offset and drift thereof.
