Polyurethane coating compositions are disclosed that include an isocyanate-reactive component that includes a polycyclic polyether polyol that is the reaction product of a reaction mixture that includes a polycyclic polyol starter, and an alkylene oxide, as well as an isocyanate-functional component that includes a non-aromatic polyisocyanate. The polyurethane coating compositions may be particularly useful as a gel coat in the manufacture of glass fiber reinforced plastics.

The present invention provides a reaction mixture comprising a polyuretdione resin, a neutralized polyol, an acid-blocked tertiary amine catalyst, and optionally, an additive package selected from the group consisting of flow control additives, and wetting agents, and solvents, wherein the acid has a pKof greater than 4.82. Compositions made from the reaction mixture of the present invention may be catalyzed at temperatures from room temperature to 130&#xb0; C. and are particularly applicable in or as coatings, adhesives, castings, composites, and sealants with good performance and extended pot-life.

The present invention provides for coating proppants, such as sand, with a resin-containing dispersion which dramatically reduces the dust generated during handling, for example in hydraulic fracturing, by protecting the surface of the particle from abrasion and degradation. The present invention provides an oil or gas wellbore polymeric cement comprising the reaction product of an aliphatic isocyanate, a trimerization catalyst, and a catalyst retarder, wherein the reaction occurs in the wellbore at a temperature of at least 250&#xb0; F. Also provided is a method of reducing fluid loss from an oil or gas well, comprising producing a polyisocyanurate cement by combining an aliphatic isocyanate, a trimerization catalyst, and a catalyst retarder within a wellbore at a temperature of at least 250&#xb0; F. (121&#xb0; C.). The various embodiments of the invention meet the controllability and minimized toxicity needed for this application. Standard aliphatic polyisocyanates reduce handling concerns while providing the reactivity response that fits this temperature range.

The elastomeric coating compositions can be used to coat substrates.

Allophanate modified polyisocyanates

This invention relates to flexible cycloaliphatic diisocyanate trimers and a process for the preparation of these. These flexible products are allophanate-modified, partially trimerized cycloaliphatic diisocyanates and are characterized by a low T. More specifically, the Tof the resultant product ranges from about &#x2212;30&#xb0; C. to about 40&#xb0; C., after the excess monomer has been removed from the product.
