The chassis frame includes a first cross member, and the battery pack includes a support structure having a first cross component. The first cross component co-extends with, and is engaged to, the first cross member.

Structural enhancements of an electric vehicle

An electric vehicle includes a chassis frame, a battery pack, and a multi-shear fastener. The battery pack includes a support structure vertically spaced, at least in-part, from the chassis frame. The multi-shear fastener is constructed and arranged to attach the chassis frame to the support structure.

A resettable bracket is herein presented. The bracket is configured to mount a transceiver to a vehicle. The bracket includes a first piece and a second piece configured to be pivotably connected to each other. A docking station is mounted to the first piece. The docking station includes a bluff, an over-travel stop, and a plurality of arms configured to restrict pivotable movement of the second piece in relation to the first piece. A fitting element is mounted to the second piece. The fitting element is configured to dock into the docking station to substantially create the pivotable connection between the first and the second piece. A spring is installed at the pivotable connection between the first and second pieces. The spring is configured to allow the second piece to automatically return to a default position after being pivoted in relation to the first piece.

The housing can be couplable to a rim of a hand wheel of the steering system. The apparatus can include a mass disposed in the chamber of the housing. The mass can have a fixed stiffness. The apparatus can also include a damping fluid disposed in the chamber of the housing. The damping fluid can have a variable stiffness. The apparatus can include a control module that determines a torsional vibration experienced by the steering system and outputs a signal to vary the stiffness of the damping fluid in response to the torsional vibration in substantially real-time.

Systems and methods for hand wheel torsional vibration attenuation

Methods and apparatus are provided for attenuating translational vibration in a steering system. The apparatus can include a housing having a fluid chamber, a recess and a mounting bracket that couples the housing to a hand wheel of the steering system. The fluid chamber can be in communication with the recess. The apparatus can include a mass disposed in the recess of the housing, which can have a fixed stiffness. The apparatus can include a damping fluid disposed in the housing so as to flow between the fluid chamber and the recess. The mass can be movable in the damping fluid, and the damping fluid can have a variable stiffness. The apparatus can further include a control module that determines a translational vibration experienced at the hand wheel and outputs a signal to vary the stiffness of the damping fluid in response to the translational vibration in substantially real-time.
