Pillar release mechanisms and related airbag cushion assemblies. Some embodiments may comprise a curtain airbag assembly comprising an inflator and a curtain airbag cushion configured to be inflated with the inflator. The curtain airbag cushion may extend along an elongated axis and the curtain airbag assembly may be configured to be positioned within and deploy from a panel of a vehicle. The assembly may further comprise a release mechanism coupled with the curtain airbag cushion and configured to be coupled with the panel. The release mechanism may be configured to release the panel using an initial deployment force from the curtain airbag cushion, the initial deployment force being in a direction at least substantially parallel to the elongated axis.

Vehicle pillar release assemblies and related methods

Inflatable curtain airbags and airbag assemblies are provided that can provide for top filling. The inflatable curtain airbag can include a top fill tube and one or more cushion segments. The top fill tube can extend at or adjacent an upper edge of the one or more cushion segments and the top fill tube can direct inflation gas from an inflator to the one or more cushion segments via channels or passages disposed away from one or more occupant receiving areas. The inflatable curtain airbags can also include one or more attachment areas disposed at or adjacent the upper edge of the one or more cushion segments. Mounting tabs may be coupled to the attachment areas and the mounting tabs may be used for installation of the inflatable curtain airbag in a vehicle.

Top fill curtain airbags

A header assembly for an initiator may include a first conductive pin, a second conductive pin, and a connector extending between and electrically connected to the first conductive pin and the second conductive pin. A housing may support the first conductive pin, the second conductive pin, and the connector and may include at least one flange extending away from the housing and above the pins. The at least one flange may include at least one opening to facilitate attachment of the connector to the first conductive pin and the second conductive pin.
