The present invention is directed to a large-pore aluminosilicate molecular sieve comprising alumina and silica, where the ratio of SiO,/Al,O,ranges from about 75 to 600, and its method of preparation. The large-pore aluminosilicate molecular sieve of the present invention has the ability to catalyze reactions involving particularly bulky transition states or large molecules.

Selective re-extraction of lube extracts to reduce mutagenicity index

MCM-56 and MCM-49 have been demonstrated to be effective catalysts for the reduction of nitrogen oxide (NO.sub.x) emissions in a net oxidizing environment such as Selective Catalytic Reduction or lean burn engine exhaust applications. MCM-56 and MCM-49 can be utilized as a component of a spherical or cylindrical catalyst particle or as a wash coat on a ceramic or metallic monolith. Optionally, a transition metal such as copper, can be added to the catalyst for improved activity.

A process for integration of an autothermal reforming unit and a cogeneration power plant in which the reforming unit has two communicating fluid beds. The first fluid bed is a reformer reactor containing inorganic metal oxide and which is used to react oxygen and light hydrocarbons at conditions sufficient to produce a mixture of synthesis gas, hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide. The second fluid bed is a combustor-regenerator which receives spent inorganic metal oxide from the first fluid bed and which provides heat to heat the inorganic metal and balance the reaction endotherm, by combusting fuel gas in direct contact with the inorganic metal oxide producing hot flue gas. In preferred embodiments, steam is also fed to the reformer reactor and a catalyst may be used with the inorganic metal oxide. The cogeneration power plant has a gas turbine equipped with an air compressor and a combustor and in the integration a portion of compressed air is drawn off from the power plant gas turbine air compressor leaving remainder compressed air; the drawn off compressed air is introduced to the combustor-regenerator; the hot flue gas from the combustor-regenerator is mixed with the remainder of the compressed air to produce a recombined gas stream and this recombined gas stream is fed to the combustor of the cogeneration gas turbine power plant.

Aromatics alkylation

A process for integration of an autothermal reforming unit and a cogeneration power plant in which the reforming unit has two communicating fluid beds. The first fluid bed is a reformer reactor containing inorganic metal oxide and supplemental oxidant gas and which is used to oxidize light hydrocarbons, primarily by oxidant supplied from the inorganic metal oxide and secondarily supplied by supplemental oxidant gas, at conditions sufficient to produce a mixture of synthesis gas, hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide. The second fluid bed is a combustor-regenerator which receives reduced inorganic metal oxide from the first fluid bed and which provides heat to heat the inorganic metal by combusting fuel gas in direct contact with the inorganic metal oxide producing hot flue gas. In preferred embodiments, steam is also fed to the reformer reactor and a catalyst may be used with the inorganic metal oxide and supplemental oxidant gas. The supplemental oxidant gas can be oxygen, enriched air or air. The cogeneration power plant has a gas turbine equipped with an air compressor and a combustor and in the integration a portion of compressed air is drawn off from the power plant gas turbine air compressor leaving remainder compressed air; the drawn off compressed air is introduced to the combustor-regenerator; the hot flue gas from the combustor-regenerator is mixed with the remainder of the compressed air to produce a recombined gas stream and this recombined gas stream is fed to the combustor of the cogeneration gas turbine power plant.

Process for improved heat integration of an oxidant-supplemented

A process for converting at least one olefin and at least one isoparaffin to a diesel fuel blending component comprising the steps of contacting the olefin and the isoparaffin with a catalyst comprising an acidic solid comprising a Group IVB metal oxide modified with an oxyanion of a Group VIB metal to provide a diesel fuel. Process conditions can be varied to favor the formation of gasoline, distillate, lube range products or mixtures thereof.

Process for producing low aromatic diesel fuel with high cetane index

A process is disclosed for the production of alkylaromatic compounds employing olefinic liquid from thermally or catalytically cracked plastics as alkylating agent. The process comprises contacting a feedstream comprising alkylatable aromatics and the olefinic liquid with acidic alkylation catalyst under alkylation conditions in an alkylation zone; and recovering an effluent stream comprising alkylaromatic compounds. The alkylation can be performed with the product of plastics pyrolysis or with non-degraded plastic feedstock in-situ with thermal/catalytic degradation of the plastic.

Integration of steam reforming unit and cogeneration power plant

There is provided a process for the catalytic production of hydrogen from the reaction of hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide with the elimination of the carbonyl sulfide and/or sulfur dioxide by-products. The carbonyl sulfide and the sulfur dioxide are combusted or reacted in one or more reaction steps with each other, oxygen and/or hydrogen sulfide to produce carbon dioxide, water, sulfur or sulfuric acid or a combination of these.
