An ocular mounting assembly for adjustably mounting a pair of ocular devices, such as telemicroscopic loupes, to an eyeglass frame or head mount with linear and rotational adjustments, but with view angle being permanently preset in accordance with working distance. The ocular mounting assembly includes an adjustable ocular support assembly and an adjustable clamp assembly rotatably attached to the ocular support assembly. The ocular mounting assembly includes a housing and two slidable mounting arms to which the ocular devices are attached, the transverse cross-sectional shape of the housing interior and mounting arms being such that substantially all of the volume of the housing interior is consumed apart from close tolerances to facilitate the sliding motion, thus resulting in a structure which cooperates to assist in providing a substantially rigid assembly.

Ocular mounting assembly

A formable nose pad distributes the weight of eyeglasses and accessories supported by the eyeglass frames over a large area of the wearer's nose. The nose pad has two inner tabs that can be formed to fit the wearer's nose, outer tabs that can be formed to fit the undersides of the eyeglass lenses and a flange through which the nose pad is attached to the eyeglass bridge. Slotted screw holes on the flange allow for height adjustment to fit the height of the wearer's nose.

Conformable soft nose pads

An ocular mounting assembly for adjustably mounting a pair of ocular devices, such as telemicroscopic loupes, to an eyeglass frame or head mount with linear and rotational adjustments, but with view angle being permanently preset in accordance with working distance. The ocular mounting assembly includes an adjustable ocular support assembly and an adjustable clamp assembly rotatably attached to the ocular support assembly. The ocular mounting assembly includes a housing and two slidable mounting arms to which the ocular devices are attached, the transverse cross-sectional shape of the housing interior and mounting arms being such that substantially all of the volume of the housing interior is consumed apart from close tolerances to facilitate the sliding motion, thus resulting in a structure which cooperates to assist in providing a substantially rigid assembly. The adjustable clamp assembly provides height and view angle adjustment of the ocular devices and allows the ocular devices to be flipped up out of the way when not needed. The height adjustment in conjunction with the view angle adjustment allows the line of sight to be adjusted while the ocular devices are positioned close to the eye or eyeglass lens.

A compact, high-intensity light assembly including a substantially hollow shell having a distal end from which the light emerges and a proximal end into which a base unit inserts. A lamp guide holds the light source in a central position within the shell using a spring which urges a rear portion of the lamp guide against an annular seating lip on the base unit. The lamp guide preferably includes a necked-down portion having an inner surface which makes holding contact with the outer surface of the light source, and an outer surface including heat-radiating features. In a preferred embodiment, the base unit is insertable into the proximal end of the shell by way of a threaded connection, enabling the lamp guide and light source to be adjustably moved relative to the distal end of the shell so as to focus the light from the source into a preferred illumination area. The preferred embodiment also includes a shield bracket attached to the proximal end of the shell and a fastening clip attached to the shield bracket facilitating at least two adjustable degrees of freedom.

Compact high-intensity lighting assembly

A versatile optical mounting assembly utilizes a headband mount having a forward portion and a vertical member having upper and lower ends. The forward portion of the headband mount includes a slide assembly which receives the upper end of the vertical member, allowing the vertical member to be vertically adjusted and locked into place once a desired position is achieved. A multiple-degree-of freedom clamp assembly is further provided to connect the lower end of the vertical member to the top edge of the eyeglass frames, facilitating first and second rotational movements about separate axes. The invention may also be used in conjunction with an ocular mounting assembly, in which case a slide rail is centrally attached to the eyeglass frames at a point proximate to where the clamp assembly connects the lower end of the vertical member to the top edge of the eyeglass frames. A mounting pad is received by the slide rail which may be vertically adjusted and locked into place once a desired orientation is achieved, and a second multiple-degree-of freedom clamp assembly is preferably used to connect the mounting pad to the ocular mounting assembly.

Versatile headband optical mounting assembly

An optical mounting assembly includes a frame, preferably in the form of a shaped wire form, having a proximal section attachable to a headband or to the bridge portion of a pair of eyeglass frames, a mid-section extending downwardly along and in spaced-apart conformity with the ridge of a user's nose, and a distal section which is bent upwardly with respect to the mid section. Optionally, the mid-section may include an adjustable nose pad which is adapted to make contact against the ridge of the user's nose. This provides for improved weight distribution, with the distal section being configured to mountably receive one of a variety of accessories such as light sources, imaging apparatus, face shields, etc.

Versatile optical mounting assembly

A compact, lightweight illumination system for producing a uniform, intense, and adjustable light beam. The illumination assembly may be easily mounted upon the head of a user, either on a headband or a spectacle frame. The illumination system includes a unique optical subassembly consisting of a low pass heat filter, a low scatter angle diffuser, and a compound projection/focussing lens sandwiched together and disposed along an optical axis. The optical subassembly may be used in conjunction with a conventional filament lamp illumination source to produce a readily adjustable, yet uniform and intense, beam of light.

Head-mounted lighting assembly

An ocular mounting assembly for adjustably mounting a pair of ocular devices, such as telemicroscopic loupes, to an eyeglass frame or head mount with linear and rotational adjustments through five degrees of freedom. The ocular mounting assembly includes an adjustable ocular support assembly and an adjustable clamp assembly rotatably attached to the ocular support assembly. The ocular support assembly provides interpupillary distance, convergence angle and view direction adjustment of the ocular devices, which are rotatably attached to the support assembly. The adjustable clamp assembly provides height and view angle adjustment of the ocular devices and allows the ocular devices to be flipped up out of the way when not needed. The height adjustment in conjunction with the view angle adjustment allows the line of sight to be adjusted while the ocular devices are positioned close to the eye or eyeglass lens.
