A method of space communication for IoT or equivalent services increases the number of terminals served on a space transmission resource while limiting the signaling used by the terminal. This limitation is obtained on the one hand by the allotting to each terminal of a logical beam, corresponding to a predetermined fixed geographical area wherein the terminal lies. This limitation is obtained on the other hand by management, centralized at the level of a central entity for connecting to the space network, of the association of the terminal with a logical beam and of the association of the resources bound for the logical attachment beam. A space telecommunications system implements a method of space communication. The method of space communication allows transparent switchover from a terrestrial system to the space system when the terrestrial system and the space system are integrated to a high degree, particularly at the level of the terminal.

Method for very high throughput satellite data transmission

A method of adapting the capacity of a contention transmission channel between terminals and a connection station comprises a step of continuous estimation, using measurements in reception of expected bursts, a probability of receiving an empty expected burst Pe, or the probability Pe and a measured probability of receiving a burst Ps, or a probability of receiving a burst having undergone a collision Pc. The method determines a current quantity Gr, monotonically sensitive to the external loading of the contention channel, using an estimated probability, Pe or Pc, or of the two estimated probabilities Pe and Ps, and detects whether a crossing of a threshold from among two predetermined thresholds while deviating from a fixed nominal value of Gr has occurred to decide to increase or decrease the current capacity of the transmission channel. The connection station notifies the terminals in quasi-real-time of the current composition of the transmission channel.

Method for dynamically adapting the capacity of a contention transmission channel

A device (D) for compression of streams of packets of data, for a communication equipment (E) constituting a transmission end point in an Internet Protocol communication network (R), the packets of a stream each comprising, in particular, an IP header including a destination end point (E) identifier, a session identifier and stream attributes, and said packets being intended to be transmitted after decomposition into cells. This compression device (D) comprises processing means (MT) responsible, if they receive a packet of a stream, for determining if the IP header of the packet can be compressed as a function of at least one chosen criterion, and for determining if the compression can lead to a reduction in the number of cells having to result from the decomposition of that packet.

A method of allocating communication resources to terminals in an MF-TDMA telecommunication system is provided, in which digital data is transmitted in selected time intervals on each of a plurality of carriers. The resources for each terminal are allocated to frames grouped into superframes. The pattern of resources (time intervals and carriers) allocated to the terminal for the transmission of real-time data in each frame of a given rank in a superframe remains the same throughout the various superframes of the call relating to the real time data. Accordingly, the transmission of real time data is virtually free of jitter.

Method of allocating communication resources in an MF-TDMA telecommunication system

A multiple frequency time division multiple access digital telecommunication system, in particular a transparent satellite telecommunication system, includes terminals and a base station. Calls can be effected in star mode, via the base station, or in meshed mode, directly between the terminals, which are divided into two groups. The frequency band allocated to the system is divided into two parts, comprising a first part for sending by the first group and a second part for sending by the second group. Each part of the frequency band is divided into two sub-bands. The central sub-bands are used for meshed sending, the end sub-bands are used for star sending, and the two central sub-bands are also used for meshed reception by both groups of terminals.
