The invention relates to an automated hand, such as a prosthetic hand. In one form, the automated hand may be fluid compatible. In one form, the automated hand may comprise features to reduce the risk of harm to motors and/or other sensitive components of the hand when subject to an impact. In one form, the hand may comprise a wrist joint configured to allow the hand to curl and flex and/or to rotate. In one form, one or more digits of the hand may be individually controlled. In one form the hand may include a thumb rotation locking mechanism. In one form the hand may be provided with removable grip plates. In one form, the hand may be configured for use as a training hand.

Automated hand

A field cover system to selectively cover, and uncover, a sports field or similar is described. The field cover system comprising a flexible resilient planar material to extend and cover the sports field, and to retract and uncover the sports field, a plurality of elongate support members, moveable to extend between a retracted position and an extended position, and one or more tensile members configured to, in use, support and/or attach to the cover and attach to the plurality of elongate support members. In the retracted position the plurality of elongate support members is located substantially below a surface level of the sports field, and in the extended position and with the tensile members attached to or supporting the cover, the elongate support members elevate the flexible resilient planar material above the sports field.

Exercise equipment comprising a grippable handle at which said exercise equipment can be lifted by a user, and at least one docking assembly connected to the grippable handle. The docking assembly has opposing arms that define a slot in which at least one weight plate can be removably mounted. At least one locking member is located on the docking assembly to capture and/or lock at one weight plate to the docking assembly once received in the slot.

An apparatus () for testing electrical activity from a biological tissue sample comprises a body () provided with a well (), stimulating means () for stimulating a sample located in the well (), and detecting means () for detecting electrical activity in the sample. In one embodiment the apparatus has a fluid inlet means () and a fluid outlet means () in fluid communication with the well (). A direction indicator system and associated method for cyclists, joggers and other users includes one or more direction indicating elements and a cooperating sensor structured to sense the position of the direction indicating means such that when a direction indicating element is moved out of the sensing zones, the indicator is activated, and when the direction indicating element moves within the sensing zone, it is deactivated. In one embodiment, a pair of indicators is employed and may be used to indicate direction of intended movement of a cyclist.
