The present disclosure relates to a lighting fixture that is configured to transfer heat that is generated by a light source and any associated electronics toward the front of the lighting fixture. The lighting fixture includes a heat spreading cup that is formed from a material that efficiently conducts heat and a light source that is coupled inside the heat spreading cup. The heat spreading cup has a bottom panel, a rim, and at least one sidewall extending between the bottom panel and the rim. The light source is coupled inside the heat spreading cup to the bottom panel and configured to emit light in a forward direction through an opening formed by the rim. Heat generated by the light source during operation is transferred radially outward along the bottom panel and in a forward direction along the at least one sidewall toward the rim of the heat spreading cup.

Lighting fixture

Solid state lighting components are provided with improved color rendering, improved color uniformity, and improved directional lighting, and that are suitable for use in high output lighting applications and can be used in place of CDMH bulb lighting. Exemplary solid state lighting components include a substrate comprising a light emitter surface and or more light emitters disposed on and/or over the light emitter surface. Exemplary components include a light directing optic and/or a diffusing optic for mixing light. The light directing optic may be disposed at least partially around a perimeter of the light emitter surface. The diffusing optic may be disposed between portions of the light directing optic and spaced apart from the light emitter surface.

Solid state lighting components

A device for an LED has a substrate and a circuit on the substrate configured to accept the LED. The circuit includes a first set of electrical traces terminating at a first set of solder pads for a first sized LED, a second set of electrical traces terminating at a second set of solder pads for a second sized LED different from the first sized LED, and peripheral electrical traces for electrically interconnecting electrical traces of the first set of electrical traces or between electrical traces of the second set of electrical traces. Connection components electrically interconnect the first set of electrical traces with each other or the electrical traces of the second set of electrical traces with each other, respectively, at corresponding solder pads. The device is configurable to provide a first voltage and a second voltage to the LED.

Configurable circuit layout for LEDs

In one aspect, light fixtures are described herein employing waveguide components for delivery of directional light to wall surfaces and/or surfaces outside the general down lighting distribution of the fixture. A light fixture comprises a light source component in an optic assembly, the light source component comprising a first light source providing a down lighting distribution and a second light source coupled to a waveguide component of the optic assembly providing one or more lateral lighting distributions from the light fixture. The waveguide component comprises at least one waveguide optic comprising a body and a light extraction face, the light extraction face forming one or more sidewall portions of the optic assembly.

Wall washing light fixtures

A system includes at least one light-emitting device configured to be mounted on a stationary structure, such as a lighting pole or parking structure. A control circuit is operatively coupled to the at least one light-emitting device and configured to detect an object in a vicinity of the at least one light-emitting device and to vary a characteristic of illumination produced by the at least one light-emitting device responsive to the detection of the object.

A luminaire includes a light source and an electrical path for providing power to the light source. A switch is in the electrical path and is operable to interrupt and complete the electrical path. An infrared sensor detects an object in proximity to the light source for controlling operation of the switch.

Overheating safety device and luminaire

An LES is a surface from which light emanates from a lighting fixture. The present disclosure relates to a providing a lighting fixture that has an actual light emitting surface (A-LES), which is substantially smaller than the maximum potential LES (M-LES) for the lighting fixture. The M-LES is defined as the theoretical maximum LES for the mounting structure of the lighting fixture, and the A-LES is defined as the actual LES of the lighting fixture, as dictated by the lens or optical structures of the lighting fixture. The A-LES may provide an LES that is not only smaller, but also shaped differently, from the M-LES, to help control the light output of the lighting fixture based on the lighting application.

Modular optic for changing light emitting surface

The disclosure relates to a lighting fixture having a base, a solid-state light source, and a lens assembly. The optic has a body with a cavity and a proximal opening. The lens assembly is coupled to the base at the proximal opening. The solid-state light source is mounted to the base and is configured to direct light into the cavity via the proximal opening. At least a portion of an interior surface of the body includes a number of elongated prisms. At least a portion of the exterior surface of the body includes a number of diffusers.

Lens assembly for a solid-state lighting fixture

A lighting component having an optic is provided. The optic includes a body formed from a plurality of partial elliptical bodies. Each partial elliptical body is substantially elliptical about a source focal point and a common focal point. Each source focal point for the partial elliptical bodies is disparately located and each common focal point for the plurality of partial elliptical bodies is collocated. The body of the optic has a common outlet proximate the common focal point and a plurality of source inlets where each source inlet of the plurality of source inlets is proximate the source focal point for a corresponding one of the plurality of partial elliptical tubes.
