A reciprocating saw blade for improving vibration and cordless runtime includes an elongated body having a front end portion and a rear end portion. An elongated cutting edge extends from the front end portion to the rear end portion and defines a longitudinal axis. An opposite non-cutting back edge extending from the front end portion to the rear end portion. The body has a thickness of approximately 0.89 mm to approximately 1.15 mm. A tang coupled to the rear end portion is configured to be coupled to a tool holder of a powered reciprocating saw. The cutting edge comprises a plurality of teeth and gullets. The teeth have a kerf width of approximately 1.29 mm to approximately 1.56 mm and are arranged in a pattern of alternating tooth pitch of a smaller first tooth pitch and a larger second tooth pitch.

Reciprocating saw blade

A circular saw blade includes a circular plate having a diameter, a thickness, a left face, a right face, a peripheral rim, and a central opening. A plurality of alternating teeth and gullets are disposed about the peripheral rim, each tooth having a front face facing generally toward an adjacent gullet in the cutting direction and a recess defined in the front face. A plurality of cutting inserts are affixed in the recesses in the teeth. Each insert has rake face facing generally toward the adjacent gullet in the cutting direction, a relief face extending generally toward the adjacent top face, and a cutting edge at a junction between the relief face and the rake face. Each rake face is disposed at a hook angle. The relief faces include unbeveled relief faces, left-beveled relief faces, and a right-beveled relief faces arranged in an alternating top bevel with raker pattern.

Circular saw blades

A drill bit has a shank, an intermediate shaft, and a cutting head and defines a longitudinal axis. The cutting head has a body having a front end, a rear end, and a peripheral sidewall, a primary cutting insert and a pair of auxiliary cutting inserts. The primary cutting insert is cross-shaped with a central portion with a cutting tip and four cutting arms each with a cutting edge extending radially outward from the central portion past the peripheral sidewall. The auxiliary cutting inserts are spaced radially outward from the central portion and circumferentially from the radial cutting arms, and have a cutting edge extending radially outward past the peripheral sidewall. A pair of primary dust egress slots and a pair of auxiliary dust egress slots are formed in the peripheral sidewall and configured to channel debris from the front end to the rear end of the body.

Drill bit

A chisel includes an elongate shank portion composed of a first steel, and a working end portion composed of a second steel that is different than the first steel. The working end portion is joined to the shank and configured to chisel a workpiece. The joined shank portion and working end portion has been heat treated to cause the first steel of the shank portion to adopt a first microstructure comprising bainite, the second steel of the working end portion to adopt a second microstructure comprising martensite, and the working end portion to have a greater hardness than the shank portion.

Chisels

An elongated drill bit has a shank at one end and working end at the other. A flute portion is between the working end and the shank. The flute portion is continuous with the shank and working end and is generally unitarily formed with them. The flute portion has at least one flute with a helix angle between approximately 30&#xb0; and 35&#xb0;. The working end has a pilot tip with a cutting portion. A tapered web is formed in the flute portion, a thickness of the web at the tip of the working end is about 9% to 15% of the nominal diameter.

A point chisel includes a substantially cylindrical shank and a working end region that tapers to a point. The working end region has at least three converging substantially planar surfaces, each with a protruding elongate rib extending along at least part of its length. Adjacent surfaces meet along at least part of their length at substantially straight edges between adjacent ribs. A flat chisel includes a substantially cylindrical shank and a working end region with a pair of converging substantially planar surfaces that include a plurality of protruding elongate ribs extending along at least part of its length. Each rib has, along the majority of its length, a substantially constant height above the surface from which it protrudes. Each chisel is made from steel, with the shank having a bainitic microstructure and the working end region having a martensitic microstructure.

A combination drill bit for use in both hand held drills and stationary drill presses has a shanking end, a working end and a helical flute portion between the shanking and working ends. The helical portion has a helix length (L) of The drill bit has a core that is tapered from the working end to the shanking end. A web thickness length at the working end is 10% to 35% of the diameter and the thickness length at the junction of the shanking end is 70% to 90% of the diameter. The drill bit is manufactured from a high speed steel including at least 5% by weight of cobalt.

Metal cutting drill bit

An impact resistant tool or tool bit holder has an active end for driving a fastener and a shanking end for securing to a power tool. The active end includes a body with a bore to receive the shank and a pocket to receive a damping mechanism. The shank includes an end to engage the bore in the body, and a pocket to receive the damping mechanism. The shank is received in the bore in the body for limited rotation with respect to the body. A damping mechanism is positioned in the pockets to provide damping between the body and the shank during torque loading.
