A snow plow and mount frame assembly permits an operator to attach and detach a snow plow to and from a mount frame secured to a vehicle, without the operator exiting a cab of the vehicle. The assembly comprises a mount frame, a snow plow frame, a plow blade, a first actuator for pivoting the A-frame relative to the lift frame, a latch mechanism, and a second actuator to either latch or unlatch the latch mechanism. When the vehicle is driven toward the snow plow the snow plow frame mates with the mount frame and an electrical connection is made between the vehicle electrical system and at least the first actuator without manual manipulation. The second actuator is energized to either latch the latch mechanism thereby securing the snow plow frame to the mount frame or unlatch the latch mechanism thereby freeing the snow plow frame from the mount frame.

Snow plow and mount assembly

A snow plow and mount frame assembly permits an operator to attach a snow plow to a mount frame secured to a vehicle, without the operator exiting a cab of the vehicle. The assembly comprises first and second connectors on the mount frame and the snow plow, respectively, that connect during mating of the mount frame with the snow plow as the vehicle is driven toward the snow plow, to provide power to the snow plow from an electrical system of the vehicle, a first actuator powered by the vehicle electrical system to pivot a lift frame of the snow plow upwardly relative to an A-frame of the snow plow to align holes in the lift frame with holes in the mount frame, a second actuator powered by the vehicle electrical system to extend latch pins through the lift frame and mount frame holes to a latched position, a first sensor powered by the vehicle electrical system to determine that the lift frame and mount frame holes are aligned, a second sensor powered by the vehicle electrical system to determine that the second actuator is fully extended, and a controller that receives signals from the first and second sensors and sends signals to the first and second actuators in response to the signals received from the first and second sensors.

A snow plow and mount assembly has a mount frame, an A-frame, a lift frame, a plow blade, an actuator, arms, receivers, recesses, hitch pins, a latch mechanism, and a latch lever. The elements are arranged such that the vehicle is driven toward the snow plow so that the arms are received in the receivers, the actuator is energized to pivot the lift frame relative to the A-frame so that the hitch pins are received in the recesses, and the lever is moved to move the latch mechanism to the latched position. The snow plow frame is thereby removably secured to the mount frame.

A plow assembly for attachment to a vehicle having a longitudinal axis comprises a plow blade having first and second ends, a first plow wing pivotally mounted to the first end of the plow blade, and a plow support adapted to be operably mounted to the vehicle. The first plow wing is biased by a first compression. A first connecting member is connected to the first plow wing, passes through the first compression spring generally coaxially therewith, and is connected to the plow support. The first connecting member is configured to pivot the first plow wing relative to the plow blade during pivoting of the plow blade from a center position to a first position such that when the plow blade is in the first position the first plow wing is generally parallel to the plow blade.

A plow assembly for attachment to a vehicle, the vehicle having a longitudinal axis, comprises a plow blade having first and second ends, a first plow wing pivotally mounted to the first end of the plow blade, a plow support adapted to be mounted to the vehicle, the plow blade being pivotally mounted to the plow support to permit the plow blade to pivot relative to the vehicle between a center position, where the plow blade is positioned generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, and a first position, where the first end of the plow blade is pivoted toward the vehicle, and between the center position and a second position, where the second end of the plow blade is pivoted toward the vehicle, and either a single link rod, a resilient connecting member, or a cam and follower mechanism connected to the first plow wing and to the plow support and configured to pivot the first plow wing relative to the plow blade during pivoting of the plow blade relative to the vehicle such that when the plow blade is in the center position the first plow wing is angled forwardly relative to the plow blade, when the plow blade is in the first position the first plow wing is generally parallel to the plow blade, and when the plow blade is in the second position the first plow wing is angled forwardly relative to the plow blade.

A snowplow and mount assembly comprising a mount frame adapted to be secured to a vehicle, and a snowplow frame. One of the mount frame and the snowplow frame has first and second arms and the other of the mount frame and snowplow frame has first and second receivers, the first and second receivers receiving the first and second arms, respectively. Respective ones of first and second latch pins removably secure the first and second arms in the first and second receivers. A latch lever is operably associated with the first and second latch pins and simultaneously actuates the latch pins to latched and unlatched positions. The snowplow frame includes a jack stand movable to and between an extended ground contacting and snowplow frame supporting position and a retracted ground noncontacting and snowplow frame nonsupporting position. The latch lever operably frees the jack stand for movement into the extended position when the latch pins are in the unlatched position and operably prevents jack stand movement maintaining the jack stand in the retracted position when the latch pins are in the latched position.

Snowplow and mount assembly

In combination a mount frame adapted to be attached to a vehicle and a snowplow assembly. The mount frame comprises a pair of detachable receivers which receive a pair of horns extending rearwardly from the snowplow assembly. The snowplow assembly comprises an A-frame, a trunnion and a lift frame. A blade is attached to the front of the A-frame. A pair of spaced stand assemblies, each including a latching mechanism, support the snowplow assembly when the mount frame is separated from the snowplow assembly. The latching mechanisms secure the snowplow assembly to the mount frame.
