A system that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, adjusting a matching network utilizing a weighted tuning state determined according to an application of a first weighting factor to multiple tuning states based on enhancing performance associated with different types of operation, including transmit, receive, and duplex operation. A weighted reference metric is determined based on a second weighting factor and first, second and third reference metrics selected from first, second and third groups of reference metrics based on the enhancing performance associated with the different types of operation. The tuning is continued utilizing the weighted tuning state, responsive to a first determination that a first performance metric satisfies a first threshold according to a comparison of the first performance metric to the weighted reference metric. Method and apparatus for dynamic tuning

A system that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, determining first and second tuning states based on selections from first and second groups of tuning states, respectively, detecting an operational function of the communication device, adjusting weighting between the first and second tuning states according to the operational function resulting in an adjusted weighting, and determining a tuning configuration for a matching network of the communication device according to interpolation that utilizes the first and second tuning states in conjunction with the adjusted weighting. A system that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, adjusting a matching network utilizing a weighted tuning state resulting in a tuning where the weighted tuning state is determined from applying a weighting factor to multiple tuning states that are predetermined tuning states based on increasing performance associated with types of operation, comparing a measured performance metric to a weighted reference metric resulting in a comparison where the weighted reference metric is determined from applying the weighting factor to multiple reference metrics that are predetermined expected metrics based on the increasing performance associated with the types of operation, and responsive to a first determination that the measured performance metric satisfies a threshold according to the comparison, continuing the tuning utilizing the weighted tuning state. A system that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, adjusting a matching network utilizing a first tuning state resulting in a first tuning where the first tuning state is selected from among a first group of predetermined tuning states that increase performance in duplex operation, and responsive to a comparison of a first performance metric with a first reference metric, determining a weighted first tuning state and adjusting the matching network utilizing the weighted first tuning state resulting in a second tuning, where the weighted first tuning state is determined based on a weighting factor, the first tuning state, and a second tuning state selected from a second group of predetermined tuning states. A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a matching network including a tunable reactance circuit configured to be coupled to at least one of a transmitter portion and a receiver portion of a communication device, wherein the tunable reactance circuit is adjustable to a plurality of tuning states, and wherein the determination of a tuning state is based on parameters associated with a detected interference. Method and apparatus for managing interference in a communication device

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a matching network including a tunable reactance circuit configured to be coupled to at least one of a transmitter portion and a receiver portion of a communication device, where the tunable reactance circuit is adjustable to a plurality of tuning states, and where the determination of a tuning state is based on whether detected signal measurements are determined to be invalid and is based on information from at least one of an open-loop or closed-loop feedback configuration of the tunable reactance circuit. A controller system controls a plurality of lighting element arrays. The controller system comprises array selection module for selecting a lighting element array, voltage control module arranged to apply a voltage to at least the selected lighting element array, a common current source arranged to provide a current from the common current source to the selected lighting element array, and duty cycle control module arranged to control a ratio of the current to the selected lighting element array over a time sharing cycle. The duty cycle control module is arranged to cause the array selection module to sequentially select the lighting element arrays in accordance with a time-sharing cycle, to cause the current from the common current source to be provided to the selected lighting element array in accordance with a respective duty cycle setting, and to cause the current provided to the selected lighting element array to be compensated for a rise time of the voltage applied thereto in order to be accurate with respect to the programmed settings.

A universal serial bus power control circuit including at least one first switch which selectively couples a power source node to an external power node, a comparator which detects when the external power node is charged, a feedback node for enabling voltage regulation, a charge circuit and a controller. The charge circuit charges the external power node from the power source node and selectively couples the feedback node to at least one of the power source node and the external power node. The controller opens the first switch when the external power node is not charged, controls the charge circuit to charge the external power node while coupling the feedback node to the power source node, and closes the first switch and couples the feedback node to the external power node in a host mode when the external power node is charged.

System and method for providing external power on a universal serial bus

A switch controller has a charge pump, a selector switch connected to the charge pump, and a pre-charge power supply input connectable to the input of the selector switch. For each of the output channels being controlled, a power control switch is connected to an output of the selector switch. In response to commands, output channels are enabled and disabled, causing corresponding actions in the power control switches. When an output channel is to be activated, the output channel is selected by the selector switch and the pre-charge power supply connected to the input of the selector switch. The charging is completed by the charge pump and the enabled status of the power control switch is maintained by the charge pump.

Automatic calibration lock loop circuit and method having improved lock time

A low dropout voltage regulator is described having a pass device, differential amplifiers, and a feedback loop including a low pass filter. Two differential amplifiers arranged in parallel coupled to the low pass filter in the feedback loop provide a specified and stable DC voltage whose input-to-output voltage difference is low. Improved stability, reduced die area, improved power supply rejection ratio, increased bandwidth, decreased power consumption, and better electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection may result.
