An information handling system selectively extends a camera from a housing along an extension axis to collect light along a plane substantially perpendicular to the extension axis. A mirror structure coupled over a light sensor redirects light from along the plane towards the extension axis and into the light sensor. Distortions of the visual image captured by the light sensor are corrected at the information handling system, such as with a digital signal processor integrated with the light sensor. In one embodiment, the mirror structure moves to direct light from only a portion of the plane towards the light sensor.

A keyboard translates key inputs to a touchscreen display disposed under the keyboard with the keys biased away from the touchscreen display by an elastic material that engages with the touchscreen display. The elastic material couples the keys to a lattice held within a frame and having a height of less than the frame. The keys extend to an input position if the lattice presses against the touchscreen display, such as by being held in place with magnetic attraction. The keys retract to within the lattice if the lattice is raised relative to the touchscreen display, the elastic material biasing the lattice upward away from the touchscreen display.

An external chassis wall liquid cooling system includes a chassis defining a chassis housing. A chassis wall is located on the chassis and includes a first surface that is located adjacent the chassis housing and a second surface that is located opposite the chassis wall from the first surface and that provides an outer surface of the chassis. A liquid cooling channel is defined by the chassis wall and extends through the chassis wall between the first surface and the second surface. A liquid is located in the liquid cooling channel, and a pump is coupled to the liquid cooling channel and configured to move the liquid through the liquid cooling channel. A fan system in the chassis housing may move air past heat producing components to transfer heat produced by those heat producing components, and the liquid may further dissipate that heat out of the chassis.

Methods for manufacturing an ultra-thin display assembly with integrated touch functionality may include edge bonding a laminate layer to a backlight portion of an LCD module. A display portion of the LCD module may be direct bonded to a cover glass including a transparent conductive electrode layer. The cover glass may be manufactured from a large glass sheet and may have an edge polymer deposited on edges of the cover glass, a conductive polymer layer over the transparent conductive electrode layer, and a smart polymer at the edges of the cover glass.

In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, a system may include a first member, a second member hingedly coupled to the first member via a hinge, and a camera mechanically interfaced with the hinge such that as the first member is rotated relative to the second member about the hinge, the camera rotates as a function of the rotation of the first member relative to the second member.

The hinge includes a flexible base connected to each of the first member and the second member, and a plurality of magnetic elements extending from the flexible base. The magnetic elements are configured to be moved into first relative positions that result in the magnetic forces between the magnetic elements holding the magnetic elements in a first stable orientation to provide the first member and the second member in a first configuration. The magnetic elements are also configured to be moved into second relative positions that result in the magnetic forces between the magnetic elements holding the magnetic elements in a second stable orientation to provide the first member and the second member in a second configuration that is different than the first configuration.

The display device with compact integrated structural design may include a combined display assembly that is fixed to an A-cover using selected means of attachment. The combined display assembly may internally integrate a backplate, a backlight, a liquid crystal display (LCD) cell, and a cover glass. The cover glass may be direct bonded to the LCD cell without direct attachment to the A-frame.

An information handling system opening, such as at a cable port, selectively closes and opens through inflation and deflation of a seal, such as an expanding balloon structure interfaced with a microfluidic reservoir. The seal fills the opening to block contaminants from entering the information handling system and deflates to provide room for cables to pass when desired. Automated sealing of a port is provided in response to detection of contaminants, such as liquids or dust.
