A battery support includes a base having an upper surface and a lower surface, a spine extending downwardly from and axially along the base such that at least a portion of the base is cantilevered from the spine, and at least one rib extending downwardly from the base and laterally from the spine. The upper surface is sized to support a battery thereon.

Methods and systems for supporting a battery

A vehicle air intake system includes a grille disposed along the front portion of an engine compartment, a hood disposed over the engine compartment, and an air intake enclosure disposed over a bulkhead extending laterally across the engine compartment. The intake enclosure has an intake port. A bulkhead cover is disposed in the engine compartment below the hood for covering the bulkhead. The bulkhead cover has an upper part and a lower part. The upper part is sealingly engaged to both the intake port and the lower part. The lower part defines a bulkhead cover intake port. An airflow path extends from the grille through the bulkhead cover intake port and to the air intake enclosure intake port. The airflow path is defined by the grille and the bulkhead cover.

Automobile over-bulkhead air intake system

A cowl member for a vehicle includes a grill portion with grill openings formed therein for taking in external air, a hood sealing portion disposed forwardly of the grill portion, and a hood seal integrally formed with the hood sealing portion. The cowl member further includes a vertical wall portion integrally formed with the hood sealing portion and extending downwardly relative thereto, and a plenum sealing portion integrally formed with a terminal edge of the vertical wall portion and extending forwardly relative thereto for sealing with a flange of a dashboard that separates an engine compartment from a passenger compartment on the vehicle.

A front vehicle body structure includes a front pillar that extends in a longitudinal direction of a vehicle body, an upper frame that extends from the front pillar toward a front of a vehicle body, and a front side frame that is disposed laterally interior of the upper frame. The front side frame includes an outer face that faces laterally outward, an inner face that faces laterally inward, and an upper face that connects the inner face to the outer face. The front vehicle body structure also includes a connection member that extends upwardly from the upper face of the front side frame to the upper frame so as to connect the front side frame and the upper frame together.

A vehicle body front structure includes a front end frame assembly, a bumper beam, left and right inner extension members, and left and right outer extension members. The front end frame assembly is disposed adjacent a forward end of the vehicle. The bumper beam is disposed forward of the front end frame assembly. The left and right inner extension members connect the bumper beam with the front end frame assembly. The left and right outer extension members are disposed on respective external sides of the left and right inner extension members and connect the bumper beam with the front end frame assembly. Each outer extension member includes a forward end section for connecting with the bumper beam, a rear end section having connection locations for connecting with the front end frame assembly and a curved section disposed between the forward end section and the rear end section.

A vehicle frame assembly includes a first frame member and a separate second frame member having an end portion connected to an end portion of the first frame member. A frame patch is interposed between and connected to the respective end portions of the first and second frame members. The frame patch together with the respective end portions of the first and second frame members defines a tri-layer patch configured to divide an input load applied longitudinally to the vehicle frame assembly into multiple force vectors which distribute the input load across a wide area of the vehicle frame assembly.

A regulator can include a thickness regulator pin received by a recess in an extendable and retractable relation. The regulator pin can include a tip, or can be contacted with a tip, defining a predetermined distance from the pin to the end of the tip, the distance defining a gap of well known dimensions for receiving and molding polymer melt.

A bed extender assembly for a vehicle bed includes at least one bed extender device having a longitudinal length greater than a length of the vehicle bed. The at least one bed extender device has a first end disposed in the vehicle bed and a second end spaced apart from the first end to define the longitudinal length. The second end is spaced rearwardly apart from a rearward end of the vehicle bed. A locking bar extends transversely across the vehicle bed adjacent the first end to lock the first end of the at least one bed extender device against the bed floor.

A cargo protecting system for a vehicle having a load-carrying bed comprises a support structure and a bed floor fixedly supported by the support structure. The support structure forms at least a portion of a frame of a vehicle. The bed floor includes a support surface having a plurality of longitudinal extending, spaced apart raised ridges for directly supporting cargo. Each ridge has elevated and angled parts and an upper part. The upper part of each ridge has an increased thickness compared to the other parts and a raised section for increased strength and rigidity of the ridge. Each ridge includes a wear resistant surface having a first texture disposed substantially over the entire ridge and a second texture disposed over the upper part of the ridge. The second texture is disposed at least partially over the first texture.

A gutter system for a vehicle storage compartment includes a bed floor for supporting cargo in a vehicle and a storage compartment having an opening defined in the bed floor. A gutter at least partially surrounds the opening. The gutter includes a main gutter channel disposed adjacent and along an inward side of the opening and lateral gutter channels disposed adjacent and along lateral sides of the opening. At least one discharge channel fluidly connects to the main gutter channel and extends laterally outwardly therefrom to facilitate drainage from the main gutter channel.

Gutter system for vehicle storage compartment

A variable length bed system is provided for a vehicle having a load-carrying bed and a support structure configured to provide support to the bed system. The bed system comprises a floor structure including a bed floor and a separate shell. The bed floor includes a support for directly supporting cargo. The support is a selected support that is selected from a first support having a first length and a second support having a second length that is greater than the first length. The separate shell is connected to a first end section of the support and defines a first storage chamber disposed adjacent the support. The shell has first and second chamber openings. The first chamber is accessible through the first opening. The shell has a fixed size. The differing lengths of the first support and the second support allow the fixed sized shell to be used in varying vehicle sized load-carrying beds.

Vehicle bed system

A retention system for a vehicular spare tire includes a chamber having a bottom portion. A tray is configured for movement in a first direction relative to the bottom portion between an extended position and a stored position. At least one removable interconnecting member is configured to selectively interface with both the tray and the chamber for substantially preventing movement of the tray relative in the first direction. At least one guide member is configured to selectively interface with a back portion of the tray for substantially preventing movement of the back portion of the tray in a second direction relative to the bottom portion while the tray is in the stored position. The second direction is generally perpendicular to the first direction.

Retention system for a spare tire

A system for storing a spare tire within a vehicle includes a support surface, a rear tire brace, and a front restraint member. The support surface supports the spare tire. The support surface has a rearward portion on which a rearward radial portion of the spare tire is supported and a forward portion on which a forward radial portion of the spare tire is supported. The rear tire brace is spaced apart from the rearward portion of the support surface for limiting lifting movement of the rearward radial portion of the spare tire. The front restraint member is removably secured to the forward portion of the support surface for limiting at least one of forward, lateral and lifting movement of the spare tire on the support surface.
