Method and apparatus for time management in a position location system is described. In one example, a time relation is received at a server. The time relation includes a relationship between an air-interface time of a base station and a satellite time for a satellite constellation from a first satellite positioning system (SPS) receiver. The time relation is then stored in the server. In another example, satellite time is determined at a first time for a satellite constellation at an SPS receiver. A time offset is determined between the satellite time and an air-interface time of a base station. The time offset is stored within the SPS receiver. A position of the SPS receiver is computed at a second time using satellite measurements and the stored time offset.

Method and apparatus for managing time in a satellite positioning system

Automated methods and systems for analyzing data associated with an industrial process parse data entries received from devices in an industrial process, such as a mail or paper processing system. The parsing can include applying state machines to the data to identify events and produce output relating to the process for which the data is being analyzed. Statistical measures are computed for the output from each of the state machines. The statistical measures are compared to design limits. Output is displayed to the user in a format that facilitates interpretation of the data.

A mobile terminal stores almanac information relating to the position of satellites within a position detection system by converting selective portions of ephemeris information to almanac information. The ephemeris information may be provided by a mobile network continuously or on demand from the mobile terminal. Alternatively, the mobile terminal may secure the ephemeris information from satellites.

A mobile terminal and system and method for determining the geographic location of the mobile terminal. A current cell identification number is determined for a cell in which the mobile terminal is located. The geographic location of the mobile terminal is determined based on data including at least one geographic position stored in a database and associated in the database with data representing the current cell identification number. The database may be updated with the geographic location and the current cell identification number.
