A multifunction blowout preventer has a housing formed from a single piece of material, which has a central bore, a bottom connection, a gate valve section, an integrated ram assembly/flow tee section, and a top connection. The blowout preventer optionally includes a gas lift/electrical ports section. The components of the blowout preventer are radially offset and/or staggered from one another about the periphery of the housing to help minimize the height of the blowout preventer.

Multifunction blowout preventer

An adjustable blowout preventer may be configured to be adjustable, such that a central bore of the blowout preventer may be adjusted or repositioned. The blowout preventer may include one or more adjustment mechanisms for adjusting an angle of tilt of the central bore and/or an offset distance of the central bore. The adjustment mechanisms may be arranged between a stack of the blowout preventer and a wellhead. The adjustment mechanisms may generally be tubular structures having angled and/or laterally offset bores therein. The adjustment mechanisms may be configured to be rotatable, such that rotation of the mechanisms may change an angle of tilt and/or lateral offset of the blowout preventer central bore, or portions thereof.

Adjustable blowout preventer and methods of use

A blowout preventer (BOP) and a seal anti-extrusion apparatus is provided for well control about a tubular such as a polish rod. Each of opposing ram blocks support a semi-circular primary seal and at least one downstream backup ring. An extrusion gap is formed between the ram block and the rod. The backup ring has profile that is axially compressible by the primary seal when activated, causing an inner diameter diminish, and closing the extrusion gap for improved sealing integrity of the primary seal.

Anti-extrusion seal arrangement and ram-style blowout preventer

Apparatus and methodologies are provided for modifying the wellhead structure of a production well to seal the production well before subterranean fracturing operations. The apparatus includes an enclosure tubular and adapterfor sealingly engaging the polish rod extending from the wellhead structure, while maintaining the entire rod string in tension in a manner to ensure that the string and its connection with the downhole pump are not compromised. More specifically, the present preparations involve retaining the rod string in tension while removing at least the stuffing box from the wellhead structure, andtemporarily installing the enclosure tubular and adapter to seal the wellhead, preventing wellbore blowouts.

Method and apparatus for production well pressure containment for blowout

A modified stuffing box for a wellhead is provided. More particularly, a modified stuffing box having improved and adjustable sealing is provided. The modified stuffing box may include a valve for sealing the well.
