A fluid drain may include a fluid reservoir comprising a lower tube inlet that opens into the fluid reservoir, a lower tube at least partially positioned within the lower tube inlet, and an upper tube at least partially positioned within the lower tube. The fluid drain may further include an upper tube clamp having an opening therein, wherein the upper tube is positioned within the opening in the upper tube clamp and the upper tube clamp is configured to remain attached to the upper tube upon removal of the upper tube from the lower tube.

A device for at least partially blocking an opening includes a first body, a second body rotatably mounted to the first body and a compressible seal extending from the first body. The seal includes a first portion, a plate having a hole at one end of the first portion, and a second portion extending away from the plate. A hollow shaft extends from the second body and through the first body, the first portion, the hole in the plate, and into the second portion. The shaft has a shoulder in the second portion that is wider than the hole in the plate, and moving the shaft relative to the first body compresses the second body until the shoulder reaches the plate and then compresses the first body. Such compression expands the first and/or second portions and presses them against the inside of the opening to form a seal.

A device for evacuating and filling a vehicle cooling system includes a housing having an interior chamber. A service port extends into the housing and connectable with the vehicle cooling system, a supply port extends into the housing and connectable with a source of coolant fluid, and an evacuation port extends into the housing. A valve is disposed at least partially within the housing chamber and is adjustable between a first configuration in which the service port is fluidly coupled with the evacuation port and a second configuration in which the service port is fluidly coupled with the supply port.

A device includes a first body having a curved wall with a top surface that slopes away from the first body and a second body having an interior configured to receive the curved wall of the first body, the interior including a curved ramp with a sloped bottom ramp surface. The second body is mounted on the first body with the bottom surface of the curved ramp resting on the top surface of the curved wall. A compressible seal extends from the first body bottom, and a shaft projects from the second body through a passage in the first body and into the interior of the compressible seal. Rotating the bodies relative to each other causes the shaft to pull the seal against the first body and radially expand the seal against an interior wall of an opening in which the device is placed to form a seal therewith.

This invention describes apparatus for and methods of testing cooling systems. The apparatus and method can be used for, among other things, pressurizing the cooling system either to a positive pressure or to a negative pressure, and for conducting temperature tests.

Apparatus and method for testing fuel flow in a return or returnless fuel system. The apparatus comprises a primary flow passage having an inlet for connection to the fuel system for receiving fuel pumped by the fuel pump, and an outlet adapted for connection to the fuel system for flow of fuel to one or more fuel injectors. The apparatus includes a first device for measuring a rate of fuel flow through the primary flow passage, and a second device for measuring a fuel pressure in the primary flow passage. A bypass valve in the primary flow passage is movable between a first position in which the bypass passage is closed and a second position in which the bypass passage is open. The bypass valve is movable to its first position for testing fuel flow in a return flow system and to its second position for testing fuel flow in a returnless fuel flow system. Different embodiments of the apparatus and methods of using the apparatus are disclosed.

Apparatus for testing fuel flow in a return or returnless fuel system. The apparatus comprises a housing, a primary flow passage in the housing having an inlet for connection to the fuel system for receiving fuel pumped by the fuel pump, and an outlet adapted for connection to the fuel system for flow of fuel to one or more fuel injectors. The apparatus includes a first device for measuring a rate of fuel flow through the primary flow passage, and a second device for measuring a fuel pressure in the primary flow passage. A bypass valve in the primary flow passage is movable between a first position in which the bypass passage is closed and the primary flow passage is open to permit the flow of fuel to the outlet of the primary flow passage and a second position in which the bypass passage is open and the primary flow passage is closed whereby fuel is directed through a bypass passage for transfer to a fuel receptacle. The bypass valve is movable to its first position for testing fuel flow in a return flow system and to its second position for testing fuel flow in a returnless fuel flow system.
