Systems and methods are provided to automatically respond to questions on websites. An electronic communication comprising words is received over a network. In some embodiments, the electronic communication could comprise a message posted by a user on a social networking website. The words of the electronic communication are matched to words in prior search queries, where the prior search queries are associated with online content. A reply is then returned in response to the electronic communication. The reply comprises a representation of the online content, for example, a URL linking to the online content.

System and method for automated responses to information needs on websites

A method implemented in a data processing system includes receiving a plurality of text strings. A plurality of rules are applied to the text strings. If a condition specified in one of the rules exists in a given text string, one or more attributes are associated to that text string as metadata. One or more of the text strings are selected, using the metadata, as a potential title for the content. A final title is prepared based on the potential title, and the content is published online under the final title.

Rule-based system and method to associate attributes to text strings

A system and method for determining suggested content and suggested content headlines for a web page. The system and method receive a request for suggested content for a web page, determine that suggested content is appropriate for the web page based on tags for the web page and tags for a suggested content headline associated with the suggested content, apply a rule to the tags of the suggested content headline, the rule based on one or more of time and location metadata, and transmit the suggested content headline for display with the web page if the rule has been satisfied.

A plurality of search queries are collected from one or more web search service providers. A lifetime value is determined for each of the search queries. Potential titles are then selected from the plurality of search queries using selection criteria including the lifetime value of the search queries. The potential titles can then be provided to content developers who develop online content based on the potential titles.

A system and method for selecting a title for content to be published online. A plurality of text strings are received. A plurality of rules are applied to the text strings. In one embodiment, a system and method is provided to browse and analyze files comprising text strings tagged with metadata. The system and method comprise various functions including browsing the metadata tags in the file, browsing the text strings, selecting subsets of the text strings by including or excluding strings tagged with specific metadata tags, selecting text strings by matching patterns of words and/or parts of speech in the text string and matching selected text strings to a database to identify similar text string. The system and method further provide functions to generate suggested text selection rules by analyzing a selected subset of a plurality of text strings.
