A fastener clip for securing together a first material and a second material, at least the first material including a three dimensional and planar sheet exhibiting a bored interior defined by a least one inwardly facing side wall. The clip includes a flattened strap portion from which extends a first end configuration for fixedly engaging within the bored interior and against the inwardly facing side wall. The first end configuration further has a plurality of outwardly and radially extending arms, a gripping tab extending from each of the arms and including a pair of reverse angled teeth portions. A second and oppositely extending end configuration engages the second material and includes a pair of individual rail clip portion adapted to biasingly engage against oppositely facing sides of the second material.

A recoil strap for use with a vehicle seat frame bottom, the frame having an open interior defined by inwardly facing side edges, apertured portions being defined along a first side edge of the frame and clasp portions being defined along a second side edge. The strap includes an elongated and substantially planar shaped body, constructed of a stamped and spring steel blank, and having a first end and a second end. A plurality of catch portions extend from the first end for securing to the aperture portions of the frame bottom and a plurality of eyelet portions extend from the second end for securing to the clasp portions of the frame bottom. The strap is biased in an upward direction, and in response to a downward application of force, by at least one plurality of alternating bends and recesses formed in the stamped blank. The stamped blank may also include an arcuate curvature to provide additional biasing and resistive support to the seat bottom.

Spring recoil stamping for biasing a vehicle seat bottom

A releasable coupling assembly for use within a vehicle fuel line including a first elongate and internally hollowed tubular member exhibiting an annular projecting lip from an exterior surface of the first tubular member and at a specified distance from an exposed end. A second elongate and internally hollowed tubular member terminating at one end in a longitudinally extending receptacle portion which is communicable with the second tubular member. The receptacle portion having an annular side wall and an annular end wall defining an open interior and capable of receiving the exposed end of the first tubular member an axially inserted distance. A retainer clip includes an apertured base and first, second and third circumferentially arrayed and deflectable legs. Each of the legs further includes a straight portion and a reverse angled bend portion. The retainer clip is mounted within the receptacle portion in axially inserting fashion such that, upon subsequent longitudinal insertion of the first tubular member, the annular lip causes reverse angled bend portions to outwardly deflect and to then inwardly deflect to fixedly abut a shoulder of the lip and to secure the annular lip between the reverse bend portions and the end wall. Each of the straight portions of the retainer clip further include a tang portion secured to the straight portions and extending in a direction towards an exposed end of the receptacle portion. An equal plurality of windowed portions being formed through said annular side wall of said receptacle portion at selected circumferential locations corresponding with each tang portion and seating said tang portions so that, upon subsequent withdrawal of said first tubular member, the tang portions prevent disengagement of the retainer clip from within the receptacle portion.

Releasable coupling assembly for securing a vehicle fuel line

A clip for securing an interior molding to a vehicle frame. The clip includes a body having a first upwardly extending side and a second upwardly extending side. First and second flattened base plates extend in perpendicular and opposite fashion from terminating bottom edges of the upwardly extending sides and corresponding top edges of the sides are integrally connected to a substantially 'U' shaped curved and interconnecting top portion. The base plates are spaced apart to define therebetween a central and vertical opening in the clip body for receiving in inserting fashion a thin and elongate projection of the trim piece or molding to be applied. From inwardly facing and opposing surfaces of the base plates extend inwardly and upwardly directed tangs for securing to the molding. First and second elongate and spring biased members extend in generally downwardly and first and second reverse bended fashion from the opposing edges of the 'U' shaped interconnecting portion. First and second bulbous and outwardly projecting portions extend from the spring biased members at selected locations between the first and second reverse bends and function, upon the biased members seating within a selected aperture of a vehicle frame, to abut against an adjoining edge of the frame defining the aperture and to assist in preventing unseating and withdrawal of the clip and associated molding.

EDIAS clip for securing an interior molding to a vehicle frame

An improved bracket for quickly and effortlessly mounting a fuel filter to a vehicle includes a base and a pair of mounting bolts for mounting the base to a vehicle surface. A first arcuate shaped member and a second arcuate shaped member extend from the base in a like direction and in opposing fashion and create an open cross section of a greater dimension than a corresponding cross section of the fuel filter. The fuel filter is axially inserted between the arcuate arms and into the bracket and abuts against a pair of inwardly directed tabs at an opposite axial end of the bracket. Fastener receiving portions extend from the arcuate side members and include aligned apertures which receive a fastening bolt. The bolt is rotatably tightened to draw the receiving portions and associated arcuate side members toward each other and to compressingly bias the bracket around the fuel filter.

A fastener clip assembly for securing in a non-rotative fashion a first material to a second material includes a substantially planar and polygonal shaped base member and a plurality of four engaging members. The engaging members extend substantially upwardly from associated sides of the base. A laterally projecting angled tab portion extends from each engaging member to a next succeeding engaging member and both the angled tab portions and engaging member faces are provided with aligning apertured portions. Seating portions extend from the engaging members and secure the extending tab portions with their associated engaging member so that, in combination, the fastener clip exhibits an outwardly directed and resilient bias. The engaging members of the clip are resiliently biased so as to insert through a central opening in the second material and to locking engage the second material in a non-rotative fashion.

Methods and apparatus for generating, and then precisely controlling, layer thickness gradients in multilayered polymeric reflective bodies are provided. The creation of such gradients is useful in tailoring multilayer bodies to reflect and/or transmit desired wavelengths of light. Both thermal and mechanical methods, as well as combinations thereof, are used.

Layer thickness gradient control in multilayer polymeric bodies

A multilayered reflective polymeric body of alternating layers of polymers wherein at least a portion of the layers are in a folded-over relationship is provided along with a coextrusion apparatus and method of preparing the multilayer polymeric body. The reflective polymeric body includes at least first and second diverse polymeric materials having a sufficient number of alternating layers of the first and second polymeric materials such that a portion of the light incident on the body is reflected. The first and second polymeric materials differ from each other in refractive index by at least about 0.03. The reflective body is thermoformable and may be fabricated into wall panels, dishware, decorative trims, and the like, and may also find use in security applications such as credit cards, credit card emblems, or on currency.
