Disclosed is a direct-drive refrigerant screw compressor, having: a housing; a compression chamber in the housing; a pair of rotors, each rotor of the pair of rotors being rotationally disposed in the compression chamber and including an outer surface with a screw-geared profile; a fluid being disposed in the compression chamber, the fluid consisting of a working fluid for providing lubrication to each rotor; a first port extending through the housing and configured for directing the fluid toward the compression chamber; and when the compressor is activated, each rotor rotates and the fluid is distributed about each rotor to lubricate each rotor.

A refrigeration system includes a compressor for compressing a refrigerant, a condenser for cooling the refrigerant, an evaporator for heating the refrigerant, and a lubrication system for providing a lubricant mist to a movable component of the compressor. The lubrication system includes an ejector arranged in fluid communication with the compressor and the evaporator, wherein the lubricant mist is carried by the refrigerant to the movable component.

The resonator chamber includes a first stage resonator array and a second stage resonator array downstream of the first stage resonator array with a connecting passage intermediate the first and second resonator array. Each of the resonator arrays includes a pair of spaced resonator arrays sub-portions, with each of the sub-portions including a plurality of cells extending into a housing member, and have a bottom wall and an open outer wall communicating with the flow passage, with a plurality of orifices extending into each of the cells. A vaporizer is receptive of a first flow of compressor lubricant and refrigerant mixture from the evaporator having a first concentration of lubricant. The vaporizer uses a flow of compressed refrigerant to separate refrigerant from the first flow. A lubricant sump is receptive of a second flow of compressor lubricant and refrigerant mixture from the vaporizer having a second concentration of lubricant greater than the first concentration. A heat exchanger is receptive of a third flow from the sump and uses evaporator suction gas to cool the third flow, thereby increasing its viscosity before urging the third flow to the compressor.

In one aspect, a refrigeration system is provided. The refrigeration system includes a compressor coupled to a variable frequency drive (VFD), a condenser, an evaporator, an oil separator, and an oil conditioning circuit.
