Systems and methods are provided for using augmented reality to create a printing template. The method includes capturing, using a camera of a mobile electronic device, a real world image of a surface. The method further includes, by a processor, receiving the real world image, processing the real world image to isolate and measure a portion of the surface on which print job content is to be applied, creating a printing template conforming to a shape and area of the isolated and measured portion of the surface, causing the real world image to be output on a display, and causing the display to output the printing template over the real world image, overlaid over the isolated and measured portion of the surface.

Instructions to print and deliver a printed item to a destination are received by a self-navigating mobile printer that makes autonomous printing decisions. An internal controller of the mobile printer autonomously determines whether to print the printed item using an internal printer within the mobile printer or an external printer, which may print faster and at lower cost than the internal printer. A self-drive unit of the mobile printer can move the mobile printer to an external printer, based on the internal controller's determination to print the printed item using the external printer. The printed item can be automatically retrieved from an output of the external printer and fed into a storage compartment of the apparatus, using an automated retrieval feeder of the mobile printer. The mobile printer then moves to the destination using the self-drive unit under control of the internal controller to deliver the printed item.

Self-navigating mobile printers making autonomous printing decisions

A document processing apparatus has a physical design element on the exterior surface. The physical design element has lighting elements adapted to change color. An app is adapted to be supplied to an external computing device. The app causes a screen of the external computing device to display an icon matching the physical design element. The app is adapted to communicate with the document processing apparatus through the external computing device. The app is adapted to simultaneously change the appearance of the icon and the physical design element during different steps of document processing operations to keep the icon matching the physical design element.

Example methods and apparatus to display process control information are disclosed. A disclosed example method includes receiving in a processor a first status of a first mode element, the first mode element indicating a current operating condition of an object of a process control device, receiving in the processor a second status of a second mode element, the second mode element indicating a desired operating condition of the object of the process control device, determining a mode of the object based on the first status and the second status, the mode indicating a condition of the object of the process control device, and displaying the mode of the object of the process control device within a user interface as a graphic.
