A liquid-container housing for receiving, supporting, protecting, and securing a liquid container, which has a spigot adapted to allow a user access to the liquid within the container. The housing is adapted to be fixedly mounted upon a vertically extending support structure and includes a base and a lid having a double-wall construction. The base and lid combine to define four side walls, a bottom wall, and a top wall and expose the spigot for access by the user to the liquid in the container. At least one of the group including the four side walls and the top wall is rotatable about an axis defined by a hinge formed on the housing to define a closable opening to the housing such that the housing is adapted to receive, support, protect, and secure the liquid container and facilitate the insertion and removal of the liquid container. A boss depends from the base and is adapted to accommodate the support structure so as to fixedly mount the housing to the support structure.

A process, and apparatus for practicing the process, for removing hazardous material collected on a cleanable HEPA filter in a manner which protects operating personnel from exposure to that hazardous material comprising use of a bag composed of high efficiency filter material, the bag being positioned within a vacuum container having a removable lid. The bag has an open top which extends out of the container during the cleaning operation, the container being closed by a removable lid. The system allows the lid to be removed and the bag sealed and extracted from the container without shutting off the vacuum generated flow of air.

Safe collection and disposal of hazardous, dry particulate material

A self-cleaning air filter is formed by placing a flexible filter bag in an upside-down position with its open end firmly supported. Air to be cleaned is pulled upwardly through the bag. When the air stream is shut off, the bag collapses, discharging accumulated particulate material into the space beneath it.

An apparatus for generating a velocity spectrogram is described. The apparatus includes a transducer which is positionable within a vessel. The transducer receives a time-varying Doppler signal which contains information related to fluid velocity values within the vessel. A Fourier transformation device processes the time-varying Doppler signal to generate a sequence of spectra. Each spectrum corresponds to a segment of the time-varying Doppler signal and defines a set of velocities and their corresponding spectral values. A device is used to identify the instantaneous spectral peak velocity within each spectra. The peak velocity corresponds to the highest velocity within a spectra which has a spectral value above a defined threshold value which is related to the background noise level. The sequence of spectral peak velocities is plotted on a visual interface device to form an instantaneous spectral peak velocity waveform.

An air flow system for removing airborne particulate material includes a bank of filters through which air is moved in one direction, thus depositing particulate material on an air input side of the filters. A vacuum head associated with a secondary vacuum system is intermittently applied in a reciprocating movement to selected portions of the air input side of the filters for cleaning them, while the remaining portions of the filters continue to operate in the normal manner without interruption. Both the filters and the vacuum head are provided with integrally formed interengaging guide means which facilitate this operation.

Self-cleaning filter apparatus

Contaminated air is drawn from a relatively enclosed dirty air space and filtered to remove both contaminants and other particulate materials. A main mechanical filter is positioned between the dirty air space and a surrounding environment which is to be protected from contamination. An exhaust fan is positioned on the output side of the main filter, to create a partial vacuum within the dirty air space. An irradiation device is positioned on the output side of the main filter. A secondary vacuum system is utilized to create a secondary vacuum that is substantially stronger than the partial vacuum applied to the main filter, and the secondary vacuum is applied to successive selected portions of the air input side of the main filter for creating a reverse air flow to clean contaminants and other particulate materials which are being continuously deposited there. Within the secondary vacuum system air is circulated through at least one filter element that is located remotely to the dirty air space, and the thus filtered air is then dumped back into the air input side of the main filter. Accumulated particulate material is removed from the remote filter from time to time, without entering the dirty air space itself.

Method and apparatus for removing contaminated air from an enclosed

A retaining clip for positioning and holding a member which has been inserted through an opening in a plate or partition is provided. The clip has a U-shaped structure and is fabricated of a springy sheet material. Oppositely disposed first and second legs each have a central slot to thereby define four arms. Two of the arms, which are diametrically opposed, are used to flex laterally to permit insertion of a member therebetween upon insertion of the member into an opening defined by registering portions of the slots.
