A vehicle overhead audio system, an electromagnetic transducer assembly for use therein and a computer system programmed with a graphic software control for changing the audio system's signal level and delay are provided where a headliner of the vehicle is a loudspeaker of the system thereby replacing many other loudspeakers and being invisible to the occupants. The headliner is driven in multiple zones that effect proper imaging for all occupants. Supplemental high frequency and subwoofer speakers and signal processing circuitry are included in one aspect of the invention.

Vehicular audio system and electromagnetic transducer assembly for use therein

A console assembly for a vehicle including a video entertainment system includes a console housing having a storage compartment and a storage compartment closeout section pivotally connected to the console housing positionable between a raised position and a lowered position. An armrest is pivotally connected to the closeout section and is positionable between a closed position disposed adjacent the closeout section and an open position allowing access to a video monitor and monitor mount stored below. A video monitor mount pivotally connects the video monitor to the console assembly and allows for selective adjustment of the video monitor so that the screen is visible to rear seat occupants in the vehicle.

The first side of the door panel is adapted to face towards a passenger compartment of the motor vehicle. An integrated headliner and passive occupant restraint system and a method of manufacturing the integrated headliner and passive occupant restraint system and headliner is provided. The system includes a headliner, an inflatable restraint air curtain and a gas generator. The headliner is mounted inside a vehicle and across the interior roof of the vehicle. The headliner may include a plurality of layers comprised of PET Batt material or the like. The headliner insulates the vehicle from outside sound and outside temperature. The inflatable restraint curtain is disposed within the plurality of headliner layers, the inflatable restraint curtain operative to cushion a vehicle occupant's head and torso during a side impact collision. Furthermore, a gas generator is in fluid communication with the inflatable restraint curtain. The gas generator generates gas in response to the signal generated by the plurality of sensors. The generated gas inflates the curtain causing the curtain to expand and tear the seam between the layers of the headliner and to cover the window of the vehicle.

An improved structural liftgate trim module for and a method of assembly a vehicle liftgate assembly of a liftgate for a motor vehicle having a modular structure consisting of an inner liftgate trim panel, an inner liftgate trim panel reinforcement member and an outer liftgate trim panel. The inner liftgate trim panel reinforcement member may include electrical components mounted to the reinforcement prior to assembly on the inner liftgate trim panel. The inner liftgate trim panel and inner liftgate trim panel reinforcement member are connected prior to assembly with an outer liftgate trim panel member by a mounting clip and at least one fastener. The inner liftgate trim panel reinforcement member includes flanged portions which are adapted to interface at accessible locations with flanged portions on the outer liftgate trim panel for easy-on, easy-off assembly. The structural liftgate trim module formed by the inner liftgate trim panel and inner liftgate trim panel reinforcement member is connected to the outer liftgate trim panel member by connecting at least one fastener from the structural liftgate trim module with a corresponding aperture on the outer liftgate trim panel and connecting each of the flanged portions on the module to the flanged portions on the outer liftgate trim panel to complete assembly of the vehicle liftgate.
