Disclosed is an extractor for an autoloading firearm, the extractor having an extractor body extending a proximal end portion to a distal end portion. A knuckle is between the proximal end portion and the distal end portion and defines a pin opening extending crosswise through the extractor, where the pin opening has an elongated shape. During rearward movement of the bolt after firing, the elongated opening enables the extractor to shift downward and/or forward so that part of the extractor contacts the bolt, thereby preventing the extractor from pivoting about the extractor pin.

Extractor for an autoloading firearm

A recoil assembly for a rifle includes a barrel assembly, a bolt, bolt actuator, and a buffer assembly. The barrel assembly includes a barrel secured to a barrel extension. The barrel assembly is slidably received in the receiver and the barrel extension is coupled to a hydraulic buffer assembly located below the barrel extension. The hydraulic buffer assembly is configured and arranged to arrest rearward movement of the barrel assembly when the rifle is fired. An op-rod spring is coupled to an op rod extending that can be actuated by a gas piston assembly on the barrel. The op-rod spring is configured and arranged to arrest rearward movement of the bolt assembly.

Recoil assembly for a machine gun

A recoil assembly for a rifle includes a barrel assembly, a bolt, bolt actuator, and a buffer assembly. The barrel assembly includes a barrel secured to a barrel extension. The barrel assembly is configured to be movably received through the fore end of a receiver and to move axially relative to the upper receiver when the rifle is fired. The barrel extension is coupled to a hydraulic buffer assembly located below the barrel extension and counteracts recoil forces acting on the barrel extension when the rifle is fired. A weapon system is provided. The weapon system includes a receiver and an operating group. The operating group includes a bolt at least partially housed within the receiver; an operating rod (op-rod) assembly arranged to axially translate within the bolt. The operating group also includes a carrier assembly, a bolt assembly, and a recoil assembly. The system further includes a hinge or pivot joint at a connection between the recoil assembly and the carrier assembly, a firing pin lock, an elastomeric cone interface between the bolt assembly and the receiver, a hollowed out piston, and/or tapering on the lug of the bolt assembly.

Operating system for small caliber rifles

A receiver assembly for a rifle includes a receiver with a feed assembly configured for open-bolt operation. A feed cover is hingedly mounted to the receiver and includes a portion of the feed assembly, where the feed cover is movable between a closed position and an open position by pivoting about a hinge pin oriented along a longitudinal axis of the receiver. For example, the feed cover can pivot to one side of the receiver when in the open position. A rifle incorporating the receiver assembly is also disclosed.

A handgun sear has a sear body extending between a proximal end portion to a distal end portion. The sear defines a first engagement surface adjacent the proximal end portion and a second engagement surface positioned distally of the first engagement surface. The sear can pivot about the distal end portion between a cocked position and a displaced position. The second engagement surface can be used to arrest forward movement of the striker in the event of an impulse that causes the striker to disengage from the first engagement surface. The sear may be incorporated into a fire control assembly of a semiautomatic handgun or other firearm.

Suppressor heat shield assembly

A regulator that controls an amount of energy provided to an auto loader for rounds having different gun powder loads is provided. The regulator includes a chamber, and a piston in fluid communication with the chamber. The regulator may further include a throttling valve having a first position in which pressurized combustion gas from the gas port of a barrel of a firearm can flow into the chamber, and a second position in which pressurized combustion gas from the gas port of a barrel of a firearm cannot flow into the chamber. The throttling valve is configured to move from the first position to the second position when pressure in the chamber exceeds a threshold level. The regulator may include an expansion valve in fluid communication with the chamber and arranged to move from a first position to increase a volume of the chamber when pressure in the chamber exceeds a threshold level. The regulator may include a valve including a vent hole, where the valve is in fluid communication with the chamber and is arranged to vent combustion gas from the chamber through the vent hole.
