A method and system to secure the display of advertisements on web browsers. A method according to an embodiment includes: interpreting a markup file in a virtual machine, converting displayable elements of the markup file to one or a plurality of images and constructing a modified markup file comprising the at least one image file and a scripting language code adapted to cause a user terminal upon which it is executed to transmit coordinate information defining the position of a user-controlled cursor and action information defining a clicking action.

Web services are generated from an existing web site having web page based business processes or transactions. A script is generated representative of a user navigation sequence involved to perform the transaction. The script elements include the web application calls, input/output parameters, and/or the interrelation between the elements of the transaction. A WSDL file, web service interface code, and web service implementation code are generated from the navigation script, and may be published locally to the web site or on a remote site.

Method of redirecting a request for a web service in a data transmission network wherein, in response to a request forwarded by a host of a client to a web service provider, the web service provider provides a Web Service Definition Language (WSDL) file based upon a message exchange protocol such as Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) on a transport protocol such as HTTP. This method includes the steps of forwarding a first request from the client to an old address of said web service, responding to the client from the web service point associated with the old address by sending back a message with a header, wherein the header using said message exchange protocol contains a redirection to a new address of the requested web service, and forwarding a second request from the client to the new address of the web service.

A method in accordance with an embodiment includes: defining a particular displayed area of the interpreted markup file; obtaining the DOM tree of the interpreted markup file, the DOM tree comprising parent and child nodes, each node being associated with displayable elements; identifying in the DOM tree a set of child nodes whose displayable elements comprise the particular displayed area; identifying in the DOM tree a first parent node comprising the set of child nodes; converting displayable elements associated with the identified first parent node to an image; generating a second parent node comprising the image; and modifying the DOM tree into a modified DOM tree by deleting the identified set of child nodes and by replacing the identified first parent node by the second parent node.

A script is generated representative of the user navigation sequence involved to perform the transaction. The script elements include the web application calls, input/output parameters, and the interrelation between the elements of the transaction. A WSDL file, web service interface code, and web service implementation code are automatically, i.e. computer-aided, generated from the navigation script without a user required to have advance programming skills. The web service may be published locally to the web site or on a remote site.
