A method () for selecting from a set of two or more available PUs (e.g. a set of GPUs or a set of TPUs) a PU to serve a UE () (i.e., select the 'best' PU for the UE). The set of available PUs includes at least a first PU and a second PU. The method includes, for each PU included in the set of available PUs, obtaining (s) performance information for the PU. The performance information for the first PU comprises a first time value indicating an estimated amount of time that it will take the first PU to produce a first result. The method also includes obtaining (s) budget information for the UE, wherein the budget information comprises a threshold time value indicating a threshold amount of time. The method further includes selecting (s) a PU from the set of available PUs based on the stored performance information and the budget information for the UE.

Selecting a processing unit to serve a user equipment (UE)

A method is provided which is performed by an online meeting application executed by an electronic device. The method includes, during an ongoing online meeting while the electronic device is operative in a perester mode, sending a first presentation stream to participant devices. The method receives a presentation quality metric from each of the participant device, where the presentation quality metric indicates how the first presentation stream is played out through the participant device. The method then displays an indication of the presentation quality metric on a display device for review by a user of the electronic device. Related electronic devices are disclosed.

Screen-sharing confirmation for online meetings

There is provided mechanisms for providing information about peer communication devices to a network node. A method is performed by a first peer communication device. The method comprises exchanging, with a second peer communication device over a device-to-device connection, any timestamped identity information and location information about other peer communication devices as previously exchanged with at least one peer communication dev ice other than the second peer communication dev ice. The method comprises adding to the timestamped identity information and location information, timestamped identity information and location information about the second peer communication device as obtained from the second peer communication dev ice. The method comprises forwarding the timestamped identity information and location information to a network node upon network access to the network node.

Information provision about peer communication devices

Decision-making equipment () is configured for link change decision-making using reinforcement learning. The decision-making equipment () is configured to track rewards (--M) earned for, and outcomes (--M) of, respective link change decisions (--M). In some embodiments, possible outcomes of a link change decision to change a serving link of a wireless device to a target link include at least: a change of the serving link of the wireless device from the target link to another link; and a network-initiated disconnect of the wireless device from the target link. A first communications device () for detecting disturbing sound () is provided, operative to acquire a first representation of sound audible in a surrounding () of the first communications device, acquire, from second communications devices (-) which are spatially separated from the first communications device, second representations of sounds audible in the surroundings () of the second communications devices, and determine at least one second representation of sound which represents the same sound originating from the same source of sound. The first communications device is further operative to perform one or both of: i) if a sound level of a second representation of sound representing the same sound from the same source as the first representation of sound exceeds a first sound level threshold, and if the first communications device is proximate to the source of the sound, one or more of: trigger a notification to a user of the first communications device, reduce a volume of media played-out by the first communications device, and stop play-out of media by the first communications device, and ii) if a sound level of the first representation of sound exceeds a first sound level threshold, send a disturbance notification to the second communications device which is proximate to the source of the sound.

Detecting disturbing sound

A mobile electronic device (device) operating with other devices form a group for wireless coordinated playout of audio media content. The processor performs operations that determine a common time sync shared with the other devices, and determine a timing of occurrence of a sound transient sensed relative to the common time sync. The operations receive timing reports from the other devices, where each of the timing reports indicates a timing of occurrence of the sound transient sensed at a respective one of the other devices relative to the common time sync. The sound transient sensed by the devices is generated at a preferred listening location. The operations coordinate timing of playout of audio media content by the group of devices responsive to comparison of the timing of occurrence of the sound transient sensed by the microphone of the device and the timing of occurrences indicated by the timing reports.

Mechanisms for predicting a multimedia session MOS are provided. The multimedia session has a video session and an audio session. The video quality and the audio quality are represented by vectors of per-time-unit scores of video quality and audio quality, respectively. The multimedia session is represented by a vector of the rebuffering start times of each rebuffering event, and a vector of the rebuffering durations of each rebuffering event. Audiovisual quality features are generated from the vectors of per-time-unit scores of video and audio quality. Buffering features are generated from the vector of rebuffering start times of each rebuffering event and the vector of rebuffering durations of each rebuffering event. A multimedia session MOS is then estimated based on the generated audiovisual quality features and the generated buffering features.

Quality estimation of adaptive multimedia streaming

There are provided a plurality of methods for detecting a scene change in a streamed video, the streamed video comprising a series of pictures. An example method comprises calculating, for a plurality of positions, a difference between the costs of coding macro-blocks at the same position in successive pictures. The method further comprises identifying a new scene when the sum of the differences for a plurality of positions meets a threshold criterion. There is further provided a method of determining the perceptual impact of a packet loss on a streamed video the method comprising: identifying a packet loss; and determining if the lost packet contained information relating to a picture at the start of a new scene, wherein a new scene is detected using one of the methods disclosed herein.
