A user equipment for providing information most relevant to a user as the user becomes impaired or experiences diminishing capacity is disclosed. The user equipment includes a transceiver, a memory, at least one sensor for detecting a biometric measurement of a user of the equipment, a user interface and a processor. The processor filters the biometric measurement, calculates a metric based on the measurement, evaluates the metric, selectively adjusts an amount of information displayed on the user interface based on the evaluated metric and executes an application corresponding to a user actuation of an item of the displayed information.

A method and a system configured to execute the mentioned method is suggested, where the method is capturing media content associated with at least one object, using a plurality of media capturing devices, each carried by a mobile communication device, together forming a mobile media device. The method comprise: controlling each of the mobile media devices according to a respective, predefined role and role specific rules for mobile media device movements, while capturing media content, following the movement of the at least one determined object; acquiring sensor data, indicative of the mobile media device movements, from the mobile media devices, and updating the roles of the mobile media devices, based on the acquired sensor data.

A device for handheld operation is provided. The device comprises a touchscreen and processing means operative to display a plurality of user-interface (UI) elements on the touchscreen, wherein each UI element is associated with an action which is performed in response to touching the UI element, determine one or more of the displayed UI elements which a user of the device is likely to touch based on a touch pattern, and perform, for at least one of the determined UI elements, the action associated with the UI element. The action may, e.g., comprise pre-fetching content which is likely to be requested by the user from a server. Performing an action, such as pre-fetching, based on a touch pattern is advantageous since a touch pattern reflects the relative likelihood that the user touches a specific position, or region, of the touchscreen, thereby reducing latency.

There are provided mechanisms for predicting a multimedia session MOS. The multimedia session comprises a video session and an audio session, wherein video quality is represented by a vector of per-time-unit scores of video quality and wherein audio quality is represented by is a vector of per-time-unit scores of audio quality. The multimedia session is represented by a vector of rebuffering start times of each rebuffering event, a vector of rebuffering durations of each rebuffering event, and an initial buffering duration being the time between an initiation of the multimedia session and a start time of the multimedia session. The method comprises generating audiovisual quality features from the vector of per-time-unit scores of video quality and the vector of per-time-unit scores of audio quality. The audiovisual quality features comprise: a vector of per-time-unit scores of audiovisual quality, calculated as a polynomial function of the vector of per-time-unit scores of video quality and the vector of per-time-unit scores of audio quality; a weighted combination of the per-time-unit scores of audiovisual quality, wherein the weights are exponential functions of a time since the start time of multimedia session and a multimedia session duration; a negative bias representing how a sudden drop in per-time-unit scores of audiovisual quality affects the multimedia session MOS; and a term representing a degradation due to oscillations in the per-time-unit-scores of audiovisual quality. The method comprises generating buffering features from the vector of rebuffering start times of each rebuffering event, calculated from the start time of multimedia session, and the vector of rebuffering durations of each rebuffering event. The method comprises estimating a multimedia session MOS from the generated audiovisual quality features and the generated buffering features.

There are provided a plurality of methods for detecting a scene change in a streamed video, the streamed video comprising a series of pictures. An example method comprises calculating, for a plurality of positions, a difference between the costs of coding macro-blocks at the same position in successive pictures. The method further comprises identifying a new scene when the sum of the differences for a plurality of positions meets a threshold criterion. There is further provided a method of determining the perceptual impact of a packet loss on a streamed video the method comprising: identifying a packet loss; and determining if the lost packet contained information relating to a picture at the start of a new scene, wherein a new scene is detected using one of the methods disclosed herein.

A method in a network setup that includes a client entity and a network for handling a data flow to the client entity. The method estimates a screen rendering time of content at the client entity. The method includes the steps of observing the data flow to the client entity, estimating a screen area at the client entity based on the observed data flow, determining, from the data flow, content data associated with rendering content in the screen area, extracting at least data items from the determined content data, and estimating, as the screen rendering time, the time required to render the content in the screen area at the client entity based on the extracted data items.

The invention relates to a method for performance reporting in a wireless network, wherein at least one terminal is associated to a terminal report server by means of information in the terminal. Prior to initiating the performance report, information on operator identity is retrieved. The operator identity is combined with information identifying the associated terminal report server to compile a fully qualified domain name. Connectivity information to the terminal server report is requested and received from a domain name server, whereupon a performance report session to the terminal report server is initiated using the received connectivity information. Method and system for determining a quality value of a video stream

A method and client device is disclosed for indexing content of a multimedia file. The method comprises using a client device to segment the content of the multimedia file into a plurality of segments and to determine structure-searchable data for each segment. Determining structure searchable data for a segment comprises (1) identifying one or more features of respective multimedia types in the segment; (2) correlating each of the identified features to one or more respective keywords; and (3) calculating one or more respective relevance factors for each of the keywords, where at least one of the relevance factors is based on one or more characteristics of the client device. The method also comprises the client device transmitting the structure-searchable data (including the keywords, relevance factors, and respective media types of the identified features) to an indexing server.

Apparatus and methods for user generated content indexing

One or more embodiments herein dynamically and objectively estimate user-perceived quality of an encoded video stream in dependence on the underlying video content of that stream. Estimation processing according to these embodiments includes generating a chronological sequence of the absolute or relative sizes of encoded video frames in the stream. Processing further entails analyzing this sequence to identify a plurality of reference characteristics that are defined in a reference model. These reference characteristics are more specifically defined in the reference model as parameters that characterize or are otherwise associated with content-dependent variations in user-perceived quality. For example, the reference characteristics in some embodiments comprise reference patterns or reference statistical measures that have been determined based on analyzing frame size sequences generated for reference video streams with known qualities. Regardless, processing finally includes estimating the user-perceived quality of the stream based on the identified reference characteristics, according to the reference model.
