A sprinkler tap connects optionally to either a fitting of underground piping or an existing sprinkler head of an automatic sprinkler system and includes a generally T-shaped body having a fluid flow passage extending between an open bottom end and a first output port at a top end. A second output port communicates with the fluid flow passage between the bottom end and the first output port. The first output port is adapted for receiving either a male or female sprinkler head nozzle or, alternatively, a plug. A quick connect fitting on the second output port allows for easy connection and disconnection of a hose. The opposite end of the hose may be attached to a portable sprinkler device, a hand held spray nozzle or other water dispensing device. The quick connect fitting has an internal stop valve that closes when the hose is disconnected from the device, thereby preventing wasteful discharge of water from the second output port.

A combined clothing garment and air-cooling device may include a vest and helmet adapted to removably position about a user's body. The garments may include spaced insulation layers with an internal chamber formed therebetween. A mechanism may be included for selectively introducing air into the internal chamber. The mechanism may include entry ports in the outer layer and an air-intake vent positioned over the entry ports manually toggled open and closed. Another mechanism may be included for cooling the air within the internal chamber and channeling cooled air out. An access panel preferably has windows along its longitudinal length and may be slidably interfitted within the body and linearly displaced open and closed to permit and prohibit air from entering. A cooling agent containing dry ice may be removably contained within internal tubing for lowering air temperature.

An inkjet printing apparatus for printing continuous tone images on a receiver in response to a digital image, including a structure defining a plurality of colorant or colorant precursor receiving chambers, and another structure defining at least one mixing chamber for receiving a plurality of microdrops of colorants or colorant precursors from the colorant or colorant precursor receiving chambers to produce a desired colorant. The apparatus further includes a microdrop nozzle for each receiving chamber and in communication with the mixing chamber and a printing nozzle for each mixing chamber for causing a mixed drop to be delivered to the receiver. Further, the ejection of the desired number of microdrops is controlled and in response to the digital image and connected to the receiving chamber and the mixing chamber and for causing the desired number of microdrops to be ejected into the mixing chamber and then ejecting a mixed drop of colorant from the mixing chamber through the printing nozzle to the receiver.

A medium having a phosphorescent material, and a system and method for producing images on the medium using a digital printer. The medium comprises a phosphorescent layer having a phosphorescent material and an image receiving layer disposed over the phosphorescent layer. The image receiving layer is substantially translucent and capable of retaining an image from a digital printer. The medium may comprise a thin plastic film having a resin coating on at least on surface of the film that has been co-extruded with a resin coating having a phosphorescent material dispersed therein. A scanner or computer can be used for obtaining a digital record file of an image which is forwarded to a digital printer.

Silver bromoiodide color negative films can be rapidly color developed using heat stabilized color developing solutions kept at high temperatures with minimal changes in the resulting color record densities. These advantages are achieved using specific hydroxylamine derivatives as antioxidants in the color developer solution.

Silver bromoiodide color negative films can be rapidly processed using shortened color development times and specific amounts of color developing agent and bromide ion. After development, and optionally desilvering or fixing, the developed film is scanned to form density representative digital signals for the color records. These signals are then digitally manipulated to correct both interimage interactions and gamma mismatches among the color records to produce a digital record that is capable of providing a display image having desired aim color and tone scale reproduction. That digital record can then be stored or used to provide corrected display images, such as color prints, using output display devices.

A simple and effective bleaching method includes the use of a bleaching solution including a peroxide bleaching agent and chloride ion in an amount of at least 0.35 mol/l. An organic phosphonic acid or tertiary aminocarboxylic acid can also be present for stability. The method is useful for bleaching color photographic films containing at least 20 mol % silver bromide and from 0 to about 0.5 mol % silver iodide in at least one silver halide emulsion.

Method for processing color photographic films using a peroxide

The invention is generally accomplished by at the end of precipitation of a bromoiodide silver halide emulsion, adding a soluble chloride salt to the precipitation prior to emulsion washing. The chloride salt may be added in an amount between 0.05 and about 5 moles per liter of the precipitation. Further, it is preferred that after adding the chloride, the precipitation be held for at least about 10 minutes after the chloride salt addition prior to the washing to remove salts. Further, it is preferred that the salt removal, holding after chloride addition, and precipitation be carried out at about the same temperature.
