A method for treating an individual who has been identified as having Alzheimer's disease by administering orally to the individual a therapeutically effective amount of ladostigil or a pharmaceutically active salt thereof, wherein the therapeutically effective amount is 70 mg per day, 140 mg per day, or 200 mg per day.
