A system comprising a gateway at a premises and configured to communicate with a premises device including a proprietary communication protocol different from a protocol of the gateway. The system includes a bridge server coupled to the gateway and to a device server. The device server corresponds to the premises device. An integration component, running on the bridge server, corresponds to the premises device. The system includes a virtual instance running on the gateway. The virtual instance corresponds to the premises device. The virtual instance is configured to represent a state change of the premises device using data received from the premises device via at least one of the integration component and the device server.

A system, method and apparatus for controller functionality for each of security, monitoring and automation, as well as a bidirectional Internet gateway, is provided. A system and methods comprise a touchscreen at a premises. The touchscreen includes a processor coupled to a security system at the premises. User interfaces are presented via the touchscreen. The user interfaces include a security interface that provides control of functions of the security system and access to data collected by the security system, and a network interface that provides access to network devices. Network devices at the premises are coupled to the touchscreen. Application programming interfaces (APIs) are coupled to the processor and provide access to the plurality of network devices. A security server at a remote location is coupled to the touchscreen. The security server comprises a client interface through which remote client devices exchange data with the touchscreen and security system, a web application that accesses a first set of the APIs, and a server application that accesses a second set of the APIs.

Systems, methods, and devices for managing sensor event rules are described. Methods may comprise determining a sensor event rule, wherein the sensor event rule comprises a rule sensor identifier and a rule event identifier. Data indicative of a sensor event may be received. The data may be associated with a first premises device. The data may further indicate an identifier of the first premises device and an identifier of a sensor event. Based on determining that the identifier of the rule sensor identifier corresponds to the identifier of the first premises device and that the rule event identifier corresponds to the identifier of the sensor event, a control signal may be transmitted to a second premise device. The control signal may be configured to cause configuration of one or more settings associated with one or more functions of the second premises device.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a single platform that provides controller functionality for each of security, monitoring and automation, as well as providing a capacity to function as a bidirectional internet gateway. Systems and methods for reporting account and sensor configuration information to a central system are disclosed. A security, monitoring, and automation (SMA) system may operate one or more sensors according to sensor configuration information. The sensor configuration information may be used by a remote monitoring system to send notification messages based on sensor events from the SMA system. The sensor configuration information may be transmitted to the remote monitoring system via another remote computing system. The computing system may format the sensor configuration information to a format compatible with the remote monitoring system and transmit the formatted sensor configuration information to the remote monitoring system.

Method, system and apparatus for automated inventory reporting of security, monitoring and automation hardware and software at customer premises

A communication system is provided that can be added to a legacy alarm system to provide a plurality of communication modes to a remote server system from the legacy alarm system and provide remote control and monitoring to a user of the system via two-way communication links. The communication system can be configured to communicate with an alarm processor of the legacy alarm system through use of a keypad bus typically used by the legacy alarm system for communication between the alarm processor and one or more keypads. Communication modes that can be provided by embodiments of the present invention can include, for example, communication over a public switched telephone network, cellular transmission, broadband transmission, and the like. The communication system can monitor all configured communication modes and determine which communication mode is the best for providing communication between the alarm system and the remote server. Through these communication modes and by virtue of being coupled to the alarm processor via the keypad bus, the communication system can provide both transmission to the remote server of the status and alarm condition of the legacy alarm system as well as provide control signals from the remote server to the legacy alarm system. The remote server provides pre-determined responses to information received from the alarm system, including providing alarm system condition information to a user or a monitoring station for response.

Methods and systems for configuring communication at a premises are described. A network device at a premises may be configured to use a first communication mode and a second communication mode. The network device may receive data from a device located at the premises. The network device may transmit the data using the first communication mode or the second communication mode based on configuration data, which may be received from a computing device located external to the premises.
